This Request is for the recruitment of one resource to join the Electrical Systems department. /ppMission: The role has a varied scope involving design, verification support of electrical systems, power generation and distribution systems (including lighting systems), from initial concept through to supporting flight test and in-service operations, across a range of helicopter platforms. In addition to supporting current helicopter programs, the department has a future strategy to support the development of more/all electric rotorcraft. The position will allow to follow entirely the project, from the initial definition till in-service performances. The role is within the Electrical Systems team, which is a part of the Airframe Department within the Engineering Directorate. /ph3Activities /h3pThe purpose of the role is to carry out engineering activities for electrical systems on current and future platforms. The department is responsible for a broad range of electrical systems, as such the role has the scope for involvement with the following: /pulliPlatform Electrical Power management: generation systems, starting systems, power conversion systems, distribution systems and batteries. /liliPlatform lighting requirements (emergency, internal and external) including use of Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS). /liliAnti Icing and Deicing Protection systems. /liliElectrical integration of several airframe systems (eg: ventilation, heating, ECS, hydraulics, fuel, rescue hoist, cargo hook, flotation, pitot, intakes, engine, APU, ...) /li /ulh3Areas of responsibility /h3ulliSystem architecture definition, design and analysis. /liliRequirements capture,



allocation, derivation, validation and verification. /liliPreparation of technical specifications and other project documentation. /liliReview of electrical design, including engineering drawings. /liliConduct presentations at technical design reviews. /liliPreparation of test documentation and conduct integration testing. /liliParticipate in aircraft trials. /liliSupport test at the Electric Lab. /liliQualification and certification of equipment and systems. /liliTechnical management of internal / external suppliers. /liliSupporting bid activities with future Customers. /li /ulh3Requirements /h3h3Essential /h3ulliDegree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or a related field) required. Background in electrical subjects is mandatory. /liliSkilled in electrical network modelling and Simulation tools software (Matlab, Simulink, Amesim). /liliDetailed knowledge and experience in areas of electrical systems, eg electrical machines, inverter, converter, electrical storage. /liliProject management responsibility and reporting to the head of function. Including scheduling abilities. /liliGood English, written and spoken. /liliProactive approach, able to perform the assigned tasks with minimum oversight. /li /ulh3Desirable /h3ulliExperience of aerospace engineering and operations. /liliExperience of avionic Data Protocols (ARINC 429, AFDX, CAN BUS...). /liliExperience of integration, qualification and certification of Electrical Power systems would be an advantage. Also in automotive or industrial fields. /liliExperience of aerospace standards, e.g.MIL-STD-704F, RTCA/DO-160G, RTCA/DO-178C, RTCA/DO-254, RTCA/DO-311A. /liliExperience of the challenges associated with unmanned systems. /liliKnowledge in the development of system architectures would be an advantage. /liliKnowledge of systems engineering tools for requirements management and system modelling, e.g. IBM Rational DOORS. /liliExperience of managing personal tasks on time and within budget.
