About the role

PeoItaly is recruiting an Energy Marshall for a confidential international general contractor delivering mission-critical Data Centre projects across Europe.

The successful candidate will be employed directly by the client and join the project team responsible for a major Data Centre development in the Milan area.

This is a critical site-based position responsible for maintaining rigorous control of hazardous-energy isolations as electrical and MEP systems progress from construction through testing, commissioning and energisation.

Operating at the intersection of Construction, Commissioning and EHS, the Energy Marshall will ensure that LOTO/LOTOS, permit-to-work and hazardous-energy control procedures are correctly implemented, documented and consistently followed. The role will contribute directly to the protection of personnel, equipment and live systems during technically sensitive project phases.

Key responsibilities

- Take operational ownership of the project’s hazardous-energy isolation programme.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor energy-isolation activities across assigned MEP systems and work areas.
- Verify compliance with approved LOTO/LOTOS, permit-to-work and hazardous-energy control procedures.
- Review risk assessments, permits, method statements, isolation plans and energisation documentation.
- Coordinate Construction and Commissioning teams during system testing, transition and energisation activities.
- Manage LOTO/LOTOS permits, authorisations and related approval processes.
- Maintain clear communication between Construction, Commissioning, EHS, client representatives, contractors and suppliers.
- Chair energy-control and isolation-coordination meetings.
- Deliver training,



inductions and briefings on hazardous-energy control and permit procedures.
- Support activities involving MV and LV infrastructure, including 20 kV systems and final low-voltage circuits.
- Maintain accurate isolation, permit, authorisation and energisation registers.
- Monitor outstanding actions and ensure that isolation-related records remain current, complete and traceable.
- Participate in audits, compliance reviews and continuous-improvement activities.
- Escalate unsafe conditions, procedural deviations and unresolved energy-control risks.

Requirements

- Technical qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related electrical discipline.
- Proven experience managing LOTO/LOTOS and permit-to-work programmes.
- Strong knowledge of hazardous-energy isolation and control principles.
- Practical understanding of medium- and low-voltage electrical infrastructure.
- Experience supporting electrical testing, commissioning and energisation activities.
- Ability to review risk assessments, permits and technical isolation documentation.
- Confidence coordinating Construction, Commissioning, EHS, client, contractor and supplier stakeholders.
- English proficiency at a minimum B2 level or equivalent, including the ability to lead meetings, training sessions and audits.
- Strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to documentation and record keeping.
- Right to work in Italy.




- Availability to work full-time on-site in the Milan area.

Previous experience on Data Centre, mission-critical or similarly complex electrical projects would be advantageous.

Compensation and contractual framework

- Gross annual base salary: EUR 45,000-EUR 65,000 . The position within the range will be determined using objective, gender-neutral and role-related criteria, including relevant experience, technical expertise, qualifications and level of responsibility.
- Employment model: direct full-time employment by the client .
- Contract term: Permanent.

Work model The position is based full-time on-site at a major Data Centre development in the Milan area. The Energy Marshall will work closely with international Construction, Commissioning, EHS and client teams during the testing and energisation of complex MV and LV electrical infrastructure.
