JOB TITLE: Service Designer Consultant

DURATION: September 2026 - August 2027

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

A dedicated unit, SCDR Research & Development, has been established within WFP’s Supply

Chain Division to coordinate global supply chain IT solutions design, development,

implementation, maintenance, and support in close collaboration with our corporate IT

Division (TEC) and technology partners. The mandate of the Research & Development unit is to ensure supply chain staff across operations is empowered with technology and systems solutions that allow WFP’s supply chain to deliver effective and efficient assistance to beneficiaries and services to partners. Technology is an essential enabler for high performing supply chains to automate large parts of our daily work, facilitate collaboration, access real time information on operations, and to provide us with business intelligence, analytics, and evidence for decision-making.





In the fast moving and complex humanitarian context and with ever accelerating technological advances and opportunities, it is essential for WFP supply chain to take a strategic and integrated approach to the management of technology and systems solutions.

We are currently seeking to fill the role of the Service Designer. Job holder will be assigned to a project and report to the project manager.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide technical configuration, offer ongoing support and maintenance of related systems for Supply Chain workflows globally, aligned with business requirements.
- Support day-to-day product delivery activities, ensuring adherence to overall project plans.
- Offer inputs to the Project Manager on risks, timelines, and overall solution design,

while enhancing Supply Chain processes.
- Develop and deliver relevant training programs tailored to the project's needs.
- Take on the role of Agile product owner, leading and managing products with a strategic vision in alignment with business owners' objectives.
- Define clear product development and evolution roadmaps, identifying required resources and budgets for successful implementation and transition to support.
- Analyse both functional and non-functional requirements of business problems,

advocating for optimal solutions even if they deviate from proposed requirements.
- Have a deep understanding of data domains, data catalogue definitions, and data flows,

particularly in Supply Chain data. Collaborate with the business division and data owners to model and enhance datasets for improved efficiency.
- Other duties as required.

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR SHORT-TERM/CONSULTANCY CONTRACTS

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
- Approved documented business requirements;
- Technical configuration tool, in line with the overall project deliverables, to onboard

SCO functions;
- Delivery of training as per implementation schedule;
- Ongoing maintenance support for project activities, post implementation;
- System administration and maintenance for the SCO solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education: University Degree

Experience: 3/5 years work experience

Knowledge

& Skills:
- Understanding of service management and process improvement;
- Experience in overall product delivery management and of digital solutions;
- Experience in systems configuration and administration management;
- Ability to interact and engage with diverse stakeholders from SC and

TEC;
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented,

collaborative environment;




- Desirable knowledge of data analytics and reporting platforms.

Languages: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and preferably in other WFP languages.
