Overview
As Eco Design Engineer you will lead ecodesign and chemical compliance for rolling stock projects, aligning with sustainability requirements and regulations.
You will build and analyze environmental data to deliver LCA, PCF, and EPD studies, guiding product development with sustainable criteria.
You'll partner with Procurement and Engineering to drive supplier sustainability and circular economy evidence.
You will represent Hitachi Rail in European/international sustainability initiatives and help embed sustainability across the lifecycle.

Responsabilità
Act as ecodesign and chemical compliance focal point for rolling stock projects
Collect, analyze, and manage environmental data to develop LCA, PCF, and EPD studies per ISO *****/*****************
Support integration of ecodesign principles throughout the product development lifecycle
Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to support sustainable supplier selection
Provide technical support on ecodesign, circularity, material sustainability and chemical compliance
Represent the company in European/international working groups on LCA, Circular Economy, Ecodesign
Contribute to sustainability strategies, methodologies, and best practices across the business
Requisiti fondamentali
Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
Knowledge of LCA methodology and environmental sustainability principles
Knowledge of ISO ***** and ISO *****
3–5 years' experience collecting, analysing, and managing environmental and technical data
3–5 years' experience with LCA software tools (preferably SimaPro or equivalent)
Understanding of Ecodesign, Circular Economy and sustainability principles
Knowledge of chemical compliance requirements and environmental regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and external stakeholders
Good communication skills in an international environment
