IOTA Group has been supporting its clients for more than 40 years by providing specialized technical expertise for complex international projects, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join the Engineering team supporting a major onshore LNG development in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating HVAC engineering activities, ensuring technical integrity, HSE compliance, quality, schedule, and effective coordination with engineering contractors, package vendors, and other disciplines.

- Lead and coordinate HVAC engineering activities across the full scope of project buildings.
- Manage the issuance, review, approval, and close-out of HVAC engineering documentation.
- Ensure all HVAC designs comply with project HSE requirements and applicable safety standards.
- Supervise HVAC engineering contractors and package vendors delivering detailed engineering.
- Monitor HVAC engineering progress against schedule, cost, quality, and technical requirements.
- Review and comment on contractor and vendor documentation for compliance with project specifications, SOR, design requirements, HSE regulations, and applicable international codes.
- Develop and review HVAC technical deliverables, including datasheets, calculations, specifications, P&IDs;, layouts, schedules, and technical requisitions.
- Ensure consistency and technical alignment of HVAC documentation and ITT packages.
- Provide technical support for HVAC systems serving hazardous and classified areas.
- Coordinate HVAC engineering activities with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process, Civil/Structural, Piping,



and other disciplines.
- Participate in 3D model reviews, constructability reviews, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
- Participate in HAZOP and other project safety/design review activities.
- Support FATs, vendor inspections, equipment testing, and technical evaluations as required.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, standardization, simplification, and design improvement.
- Follow up on contractor/vendor comments and ensure timely incorporation and close-out.
- Ensure HVAC engineering deliverables are complete, technically compliant, and suitable for commissioning, handover, and operational takeover.
- Support the project through the transition from Engineering into Construction and, as required, commissioning and handover activities.

Qualifications

- Master’s degree / Bac+5 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of HVAC engineering experience within Oil & Gas, LNG, EPC, petrochemical, or comparable large-scale industrial projects.
- Proven experience in the engineering and design of HVAC systems for hazardous/classified areas, including Zone classification, ATEX, or equivalent requirements.
- Strong knowledge of international HVAC and Oil & Gas standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, API, ISO,



and other applicable industry standards and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving HVAC engineering documentation across large, multi-building industrial projects.
- Strong technical experience with HVAC calculations, datasheets, specifications, P&IDs;, layouts, technical requisitions, and vendor documentation.
- Proven experience supervising and coordinating engineering contractors and HVAC package vendors.
- Experience managing contractor/vendor document review cycles, including technical comments, revisions, compliance verification, and close-out.
- Familiarity with FAT procedures, vendor inspections, equipment testing, and technical acceptance activities.
- Experience participating in HAZOP studies, multidisciplinary design reviews, 3D model reviews, and constructability assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to take HVAC engineering deliverables through to final documentation and project handover.
- Previous experience in a discipline lead, senior engineer, or supervisory role, with increasing scope and responsibility.
- Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive safety-first mindset with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, international project environment.
- Willingness and availability to work initially in Milan and subsequently at the Afungi project site in Mozambique.
