Our world is printed.
From packaging and labels to signage, textiles, and ceramics, printed technology shapes how we live, work, and interact. Much of it is produced on Durst systems.
Durst Group is a privately owned, global technology company with more than 1,100 employees and operations in over 40 countries. With deep roots in Italian engineering and design – and over 90 years of innovation – Durst develops and markets advanced solutions for digital production, automation, and intelligent manufacturing across industrial applications worldwide.
Made in Durst.
As Business Unit Leader, you run Business Unit Textile as an independent profit center with full P&L; responsibility, reporting directly to the CEO.
You own the interface between technology and market: from the strategic product roadmap and target-price logic through to the final deal, you steer the entire sales and product management team. Your mandate goes beyond managing a territory – you build a scalable organization, and within your first year you take it from an aligned roadmap to a unit that is independently auditable, with clearly demonstrable growth in revenue and margin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own full P&L; responsibility for Business Unit Textile, steering revenue, margin and cost development to secure profitable growth
- Lead the sales team with disciplinary responsibility, own the sales forecast, and personally support complex capital-goods sales cycles through to closing
- Define the product roadmap and set target prices for your Business Unit, in line with group-wide pricing governance
- Own pricing governance for your Business Unit and escalate conflicts between BU-specific pricing strategy and global pricing logic to the CEO and CSO for final decision
- Set go-to-market priorities within your Business Unit and convert the pipeline qualified by the central Marketing/Growth organization
- Leverage the Group's central CRM, data and marketing infrastructure so your team can focus fully on conversion and product strategy
Profile:
- Proven track record in the relevant market for Business Unit Textile (e.g. digital printing, machinery, large-scale capital equipment) and a strong understanding of complex, long sales cycles for capital goods
- Genuine P&L; experience – you have carried full commercial responsibility (revenue, margin, budget) for a business unit in a previous role
- A holistic perspective that bridges sales leadership and product management rather than sitting purely in one or the other
- Strong people-leadership and management skills, with the maturity to build an organization strategically, establish structures, and motivate cross-functional teams
- A data-driven approach to steering your business against clear KPIs, with a preference for a transparent reporting culture
We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader who combines strong commercial judgment with the discipline to build lasting structure – someone who thinks and acts like an owner within the business.
The position is based in Como (IT) and reports directly to the CEO, operating within a highly international group. Close collaboration with the central Sales and Growth functions is an essential part of the role.
We offer a starting annual gross salary of €90,000 on a full-time basis, paid in 14 instalments, complemented by a performance-based premio. The actual compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications, relevant experience and expertise and may therefore be higher. In addition, we offer a company car, targeted development opportunities, and a modern working environment with substantial entrepreneurial latitude within a global family-owned business.
If this role matches how you think about ownership, growth and building a business, we would welcome a conversation.
