Main duties and responsibilities
Role:
An opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced “hands on” Senior Technical Instructor. Working as a member of the technical staff team in the School of Computer Science and Informatics (CSI), you will assist in the provision of technical support to staff and students in their teaching and research activities.
Your main duties will include providing a comprehensive and efficient technical service to support the day-to-day running of the school teaching facilities including computer labs and other associated areas. Knowledge of health & safety is critical.
Key requirements:
- Experience managing and supporting network infrastructure within cyber security environments.
- Proven ability to build and deliver secure network infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of information governance, data management, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- You should be able to prioritise and organise workload with minimum supervision,
have a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- You must be well motivated, flexible and able to work without close supervision as well as within a team environment.
Essential:
- Relevant qualification in Cyber Security, AI, Networking, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of switches, firewalls, proxy services, Wi-Fi, and cyber security technologies.
Desirable:
- Experience working in Higher education or Public Sector
