Who is VINHOOD?
VINHOOD is a technology company specialized in collecting — through online services, events, and partnerships — and analyzing consumption data through a proprietary sensory model.
We have developed an online service that detects consumer preferences (Taste Test, www.vinhood.com) and translates them into sensory profiles composed of multiple variables. These profiles are used to segment consumers across food and beverage categories, supporting tailored services for companies in the FMCG sector.
Behind the model there are 3 million taste profiles, 100 million data points across 43 countries, and ten years of algorithm development.
At VINHOOD, we foster a highly dynamic work environment. Our teams are made up of young, energetic, and curious individuals, with a constant exchange of skills, perspectives, and work styles. People are at the heart of our growth — free to take initiative, innovate, and help shape the future of a continuously evolving company.
Your Role
As a Sensory & Consumer Insights Specialist at VINHOOD, you will play a key role in developing and evolving our proprietary consumer profiling model and in clearly communicating its strategic value to external stakeholders, such as clients and partners.
You will combine sensory science, behavioral data, and innovation methodologies to drive the future of product development and engagement strategies — both internally and for leading global brands.
Your Responsibilities
- Apply your expertise in sensory tools (sensory analysis, qualitative and quantitative research, innovation methodologies) to extract insights and guide business decisions.
- Transform complex data into clear,
actionable insights and strategic recommendations that strengthen the VINHOOD profiling model.
- Manage sensory and consumer research projects end-to-end, both internal and client-facing, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and integrating data from heterogeneous sources.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of training sessions on sensory and behavioral research within client projects.
- Act as an ambassador of the VINHOOD methodology, conveying its value to current and prospective clients through projects, workshops, and meetings.
- Collaborate with the Data Science team to evolve sensory and behavioral research practices, exploring innovative approaches to maximize business impact — both for internal development and in collaboration with major FMCG brands.
Your Profile
- Master's degree or PhD in Sensory Science, Consumer Science, Food Science, Psychology, or related fields.
- 2–4 years of working experience in sensory and/or behavioral research, preferably in FMCG companies or specialized agencies. A PhD in a relevant field counts towards this requirement.
- Strong knowledge of sensory and consumer research methodologies, with the ability to select the right approach based on context.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of responsibility in project management.
- Ability to simplify complex analyses into clear,
impactful insights.
- Creative thinking in applying new or existing research tools to generate business value.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- Experience in science communication, including presenting at industry conferences and scientific congresses, with an understanding of their value for business development and networking.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, even in multidisciplinary settings.
Proficient-level written and spoken English and Italian required.
What We Offer
- An opportunity to work in a cutting-edge sector, where science and creativity shape the future of food and beverage.
- A stimulating, young, and international work environment; your contribution will go beyond your core area, and you’ll be encouraged to share new ideas and bring them to life.
- Hybrid work model: up to 3 days of remote work per week.
- Office located in the heart of Milan (Piazza della Repubblica 32).
- Full-time permanent contract, gross annual salary (RAL) between €30,000 and €40,000, depending on background and experience.
- Growth through the management of complex projects and direct client interaction.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and continuous training.
We will evaluate your CV based on educational and professional experience and achievements related to the role. Any personal information (such as nationality, religion, age, etc.) will not be considered in the selection process, and you may remove it from your CV.
