At Teora, we’re looking for a Power Trader who wants to combine strategy, quantitative analysis and live trading while playing a direct role in growing the business. You’ll have room to develop your ideas, bring them to market and build the team that takes them further.

Who we are

Teora is a startup developing trading algorithms to increase the profitability of renewable assets in short-term electricity markets. We combine forecasting, optimisation and market expertise to maximise the value of solar, wind, hydro and battery storage portfolios.

Our algorithms are already operating in the market. Now we’re expanding our strategies, developing new trading capabilities and building the team to support our next stage of growth. Joining now means helping shape that journey.

What makes this role different
- From idea to market. You’ll work across the full strategy lifecycle: research, analysis, backtesting, implementation and performance review. Your expertise will directly influence how our algorithms trade.

- A team to build and lead. The role offers a path towards Head of Trading: as the business grows, you’ll help recruit, train and lead the traders working alongside you.

Your mission
- Develop strategies: identify opportunities in Italian short-term power markets, translate them into models and validate them through backtesting and risk analysis.
- Manage trading: oversee day-ahead trading (MGP), intraday auctions and imbalance management, while helping develop our XBID activity.
- Improve our algorithms: work side by side with the CTO to develop tools, refine bidding logic and automate processes.
