Nitrogénművek Zrt., one of Central Europe’s leading fertilizer manufacturers, is looking for a new Managing Director to lead its Italian subsidiary.

We are looking for an experienced, business oriented leader who does not simply want to manage a company, but is capable of building markets, developing business and selling premium quality fertilizer products.

Mission of the position

To lead the independent business operations of the Italian subsidiary, the sales of Nitrogénművek Zrt.’s fertilizer products and the continuous strengthening of its market position, primarily in Northern Italy.

We are looking for a leader who is both a strategic-minded company manager and an active business professional, who personally takes part in building relationships with key customers and partners.

Main eesponsibilities

- Full business and operational management of the Italian subsidiary
- Development and implementation of the annual sales and business strategy
- Sales of the full fertilizer portfolio of Nitrogénművek Zrt. on the Italian market
- Primarily in Northern Italy, identifying new business opportunities and developing existing markets
- Building long-term relationships with wholesalers, agricultural traders, distributors, farmers and strategic partners
- Identifying new customers and sales channels, leading negotiations and closing deals
- Continuous growth of sales volumes, revenue and profitability
- Continuous monitoring, analysis and reporting of market, competitor and price trends to the parent company




- Preparation and implementation of pricing and commercial decisions in line with the strategy of the parent company
- Ensuring the cost-effective and compliant operation of the Italian subsidiary
- Coordination of business processes, contracts and partner relationships in Italy
- Close cooperation with Nitrogénművek Zrt.’s central sales, logistics, finance and management teams
- Management responsibility for the profitability of the subsidiary and the achievement of the business objectives in Italy

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for a professional who:

- has proven, relevant experience in the fertilizer, agricultural, agricultural input or related B2B sector;
- lives in Northern Italy and has a good knowledge of the local agricultural and business environment;
- has significant sales and business development experience;
- is a confident negotiator and excellent relationship builder;
- is capable of making business decisions independently and taking responsibility for their results;
- has management and corporate governance experience;
- has a good understanding of the key players and operations of the Italian agricultural market;
- is business-oriented, results-driven and proactive;




- is able to represent the interests of the parent company while independently managing the business in Italy;
- is able to communicate at a business level in Italian and English.
