Overview
In this role, you act as a bridge between Procurement, Engineering and R&D; to inject market intelligence into development projects, driving cost, quality and technology outcomes. You translate engineering needs into procurement parameters and oversee prototype part sourcing aligned with project plans. You'll manage procurement gate activities and project-related documentation while aiming to meet cost and quality targets. This position supports ABB's energy distribution and smart-building initiatives, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.

Responsabilità
Interface between Procurement, Engineering and R&D; to align on development goals
Infuse market, supplier and external intelligence into the development process
Translate engineering requests into procurement requirements for execution
Manage ordering and on-time delivery of prototype parts with suppliers
Lead procurement Gate Model activities and maintain project procurement documents
Estimate initial cost and quality and pursue targets
Optimize cost and quality across development stages
Collaborate with R&D;, engineering project teams and local procurement teams
Requisiti fondamentali
5+ years in procurement within New Product Development programs
Experience as Procurement Engineer or Project Buyer for mechanical/electromechanical/electronics components and systems
Proficient in SAP, SAP Ariba or equivalent ERP/procurement platforms
Familiar with PLM and project management tools
Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
Innovative, problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
Italian and English communication skills (written and spoken)
Engineering degree or proven SCM/technical background
