Role Description The Geneticist will work tempo pieno on-site at Ospedale Policlinico di Milano in Milan, contributing to clinical and research activities in medical genetics. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting genetic analyses, interpreting sequencing data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical teams to support diagnosis and patient management.

The role involves designing and overseeing laboratory protocols, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and participating in case discussions and genetic counseling support. The Geneticist will also contribute to research projects, collect and analyze clinical and genetic data, and engage in continuous professional development to remain current with advances in genomics and precision medicine.

Qualifications considered

- Strong foundation in Medicine or Medical Genetics, with the ability to apply genetic knowledge to patient care and clinical decision-making.
- Proficient Laboratory Skills relevant to genetics, including DNA/RNA extraction, sample preparation, and quality control procedures.
- Experience with Sequencing techniques and related genomic technologies,



including data interpretation and reporting of clinically relevant findings.
- Ability to use Statistics for the analysis of genetic, clinical, and research data, including familiarity with basic biostatistical methods and tools.
- Background in Plant Breeding or comparative genetics is an asset for translational research and understanding broader genetic principles.
- Advanced degree in Genetics, Medical Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related field; clinical specialization or board certification in genetics is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to accuracy and detail in laboratory work and data interpretation.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and patients, and to present complex genetic information clearly.
- Commitment to ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and regulatory compliance in clinical and research settings.
