BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: WFP is scaling up efforts to prevent and treat all forms of malnutrition in line with Sustainable Development Goal 2. To do so, WFP is supporting governments and working with other UN agencies, NGO partners as well as with the private sector to increase access, availability, demand, and consumption of nutritious foods within vulnerable populations.

The number and range of new foods proposed for use in WFP operations has been increasing, especially foods proposed to treat and/or prevent undernutrition. In order to enhance the alignment of new, or existing, foods with WFP food specifications and/or guidance, there is a need to proactively support food development initiatives in an early stage.





To achieve these objectives, the Food Safety Assurance Unit needs to enhance its capacity to address IT needs, maintain a strema of Knowledge Management, including trainings, communications and updates to key documents, such as the FSQ Manual, improve automitization of internal processes and proper roll out and execution of Complaince Testing Programs.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain digital systems within the Food Safety scope (e.g.: DOTs, FOSTER)
- Coordinate information sharing initiatives linked Communications
- Ensure updates of the WFP Food safety and Quality Manual
- Coordinate the organization, scheduling, and execution of trainings
- Coordinate trainings and others knowledge management activities as required
- Support in Capacity strengthening material development
- Coordinate organization of compliance testing activities as required
- Support other technical projects as required DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

Report on the completion of the above responsibilities and key KPis set for the tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education: University degree in Food science and technology, Nutrition or other field relevant to international development assistance

Experience: Desirable at least two years post Bachelor's or one year post Master's, job related experience in knowledge, communication or process management within the food industry

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR SHORT-TERM/CONSULTANCY CONTRACTS

WFP-specific work experience is an asset and desirable with knowledge of common WFP business principals, processes, and specific systems•

Knowledge Experience with knowledge and project management tools

& Skills:

- Experience developing content for trainings, coordinating teams
- Strong oral and written English communication skills, able to clearly articulate insights to WFP internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Team)

Languages: Fluency in oral and written English, with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP's working languages) is an advantage
