Quality Assurance (QA) Manager – Food Supplements

About the Role

Minerva is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to take ownership of product quality and food-safety assurance across our growing portfolio of food supplements.

Our products are developed by our R&D;/NPD team and manufactured by third-party contract manufacturers. You will independently verify that finished products, manufacturing processes, packaging and supporting documentation meet Minerva’s quality standards, applicable food-supplement legislation and our IFS Broker-aligned quality management system.

This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and autonomy. You will work closely with our contract manufacturers, packaging suppliers, Regulatory Compliance, R&D;/NPD and Customer Care teams across the UK, EU and international markets.

As our portfolio expands into new products, countries and languages, you will help ensure our quality systems remain robust, consistent and audit-ready.

Please note: New product concepts, formulation development and ingredient sourcing sit with our R&D;/NPD team and are outside the scope of this role.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

- Own and maintain finished-product specifications, raw-material checklists and product quality checklists across all SKUs and market variants.
- Manage document control and versioning to ensure specifications and quality records remain accurate and current.
- Manage the ongoing quality monitoring programme for contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers, including certification status, audit reports, GMP, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, HACCP and other relevant quality credentials.
- Review Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), batch documentation and manufacturing records prior to product release.
- Place batches on quality hold where required and coordinate investigation and resolution of deviations and non-conformities.
- Manage packaging and label quality checks for each SKU, market and language version before artwork approval.
- Verify supplier Declarations of Conformity and relevant food-contact-material and GMP compliance documentation.
- Maintain SKU-level packaging data, including material composition, weight and recyclability information, and provide accurate data to Regulatory Compliance for EPR and PPWR requirements.
- Act as HACCP Team Lead, maintaining and reviewing the company HACCP plan.




- Conduct six-monthly reviews to confirm quality procedures are being implemented effectively.
- Own the quality aspects of customer complaint monitoring, investigation and trend analysis.
- Maintain and manage product recall and withdrawal procedures.
- Represent Quality within the company’s Crisis Management Team.
- Deliver product-safety and quality training and maintain appropriate training and competency records.
- Support Minerva’s preparation for IFS Broker certification, certification audits and ongoing surveillance.

What Success Looks Like

You will help us maintain a proactive, well-controlled and audit-ready quality system, with a particular focus on:

- 100% CoA and required batch-documentation review before product release.
- Timely investigation and closure of manufacturing non-conformities, with a target of resolution within 30 days.
- Current and valid quality certification held on file for all core contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers.
- Prompt investigation and response to product-safety and quality-related customer queries, working with Customer Care.
- Completion of scheduled six-monthly quality-procedure implementation reviews.
- Strong preventative controls designed to minimise product-safety incidents, withdrawals and recalls.

About You

You will be comfortable working independently and making evidence-based quality decisions in a business that outsources manufacturing.

You should have:

- At least 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Management or Food Safety within food supplements, nutraceuticals, functional foods or another regulated food category.
- Experience working with third-party manufacturers / contract manufacturers rather than solely within an in-house production environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of HACCP and quality-management systems.
- Working knowledge of UK and EU food-supplement requirements, including relevant aspects of:
- Directive 2002/46/EC
- Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006
- Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011
- Knowledge of Health Canada requirements for supplements or natural health products.
- Familiarity with IFS Broker or another relevant GFSI-recognised standard.
- Experience reviewing specifications, CoAs, batch records,



supplier documentation and product-release documentation.
- Confidence managing multiple SKUs, markets and language variants simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong document-control skills.
- The judgement and confidence to challenge suppliers, investigate deviations and place products on hold where necessary.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and colleagues remotely.

Desirable Experience

It would be an advantage if you also have:

- FDA / US regulatory or quality experience.
- IFS Broker experience.
- HACCP Team Leader or Lead Auditor training.
- Experience preparing for third-party certification audits.
- Experience with packaging compliance, food-contact materials, EPR or PPWR.
- Experience working in a fast-growing food-supplement or nutraceutical business.

Working Arrangements

This is a remote/hybrid role involving regular collaboration with colleagues, manufacturers and suppliers across the UK, EU and other international time zones.

The role would suit someone who is highly organised, comfortable taking ownership and enjoys building strong quality processes in a growing international business.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €40,000.00 - €45,000.00 per year
