JOB TITLE: Information Systems Consultant
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Regular Consultancy
UNIT/DIVISION: TECM Foundational Technology Services
DUTY STATION (City, Country): Rome (Italy)
DURATION: 11 months
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Reporting directly to the Workplace Services Lead and under the general supervision and guidance of
the Chief of TECM, the incumbent shall support the continuous optimisation and automation of
infrastructural services, facilitate the transition of key services and workloads to the cloud,
operationalise and deliver new cloud services and infrastructures for the organisation and, in
collaboration with other TEC stakeholders, provide training, guidance and knowledge transfer to
ensure efficient support.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Operationalisation and delivery of new and existing cloud services.
2. Optimisation of critical on-premises infrastructural services, facilitating the transition of such
to the cloud where possible.
3. Act as the focal point to TECI for any operational security workloads.
4. Implementation of a global support model for the administration of Microsoft Azure, including
RACI matrix and standard operating procedures.
5. Provide training, guidance and knowledge transfer to TEC stakeholders, both internally and
externally to the workplace management team.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
• Endorsement and Release processes are completed for new and existing cloud services,
ensuring adequate support structures and documentation is in place.
• Optimise and automate on-premises infrastructural services, decommissioning obsolete
services where necessary.
• In collaboration with TECI, implement new operational security workloads and technologies
to ensure the continuous improvement of cyber-security efforts and ensure that daily
monitoring of operational cyber-security platforms services is running effectively, and
reporting and escalation to TECI is done in accordance with existing procedures.
• Definition and implementation of global support model for the administration of Microsoft
Azure, inclusive of RACI Matrix, Standard operating procedures and full integration with
EasyVista and ServiceNow ITSM Service.
• Train and guide members of the Workplace Management team and India Service Desk to
efficiently administer and manage the on-premises infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: University degree, preferably with a Masters, in computer engineering, process
optimisation or an equivalent discipline
Experience: 3-5 years of incremental experience in on-premises and cloud infrastructures
Knowledge & Skills:
In depth knowledge of administering complex hybrid IT infrastructures. Sound
knowledge of Active Directory and networking technologies. Experience in the
implementation and operationalisation of cybersecurity technologies.
Languages: English. Desirable any other UN official language.
