Claris Ventures is a venture capital firm focused exclusively on biotech and therapeutics. Based in Turin, we manage approximately €200 million across two funds and invest in companies developing new medicines, from preclinical development through the early clinical stages.

We back scientific innovation originating primarily from the Italian and European research ecosystem, often working alongside founders from the very early stages of company creation and supporting our portfolio companies through some of the most critical phases of their development.

We are now looking for an Investment Analyst to join our team in Turin.

We are open to candidates coming from two different backgrounds: someone with a strong foundation in life sciences, or someone with a strong technical background in AI, data and engineering who wants to apply those skills to biotech investing.

You do not need to be both.

The role

You will work directly with the Partners and the investment team across the full investment lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Sourcing and screening new investment opportunities in biotech and therapeutics
- Analysing scientific rationale, competitive landscapes, clinical development plans and commercial potential
- Supporting scientific, commercial, financial and legal due diligence
- Preparing investment analyses, financial models and Investment Committee materials
- Monitoring portfolio companies and supporting selected strategic projects
- Contributing to materials for investors and institutional stakeholders
- Helping us continuously improve the way we identify, analyse and monitor investment opportunities

For candidates with a strong AI/data background, an important part of the role may also include developing and implementing AI-enabled tools and workflows for investment scouting, scientific intelligence, due diligence, portfolio monitoring and internal knowledge management.

We are a small team, so the role is broad by design. You will have significant exposure to the Partners, portfolio companies,



scientists, entrepreneurs and investors, and you will be expected to take responsibility early.

Who we are looking for

We are deliberately looking at two possible profiles.

Profile 1 — Life Sciences

You may have:

- A degree in biotechnology, biology, biomedical engineering, medicine, pharmacy or another relevant scientific discipline
- A strong interest in drug development, biotech entrepreneurship and venture capital
- The ability to understand and critically assess complex scientific information
- A highly analytical and structured approach to problem solving
- Intellectual curiosity and the willingness to quickly explore unfamiliar scientific areas

A PhD is very welcome.

Profile 2 — AI / Data / Engineering

You may have:

- A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or another highly quantitative discipline
- Strong familiarity with modern AI tools, particularly generative AI and LLM-based workflows
- The ability to use technology not simply as a productivity tool, but to design new ways of sourcing, analysing and organising information
- Experience with areas such as Python, data analysis, APIs, automation, AI agents, data pipelines or rapid prototyping
- A genuine interest in biotechnology, drug discovery and venture investing, and the curiosity to build a strong understanding of the underlying science

We do not expect you to arrive as a biotech expert. We do expect you to want to become one.

We place significant weight on attitude, judgement, intelligence and motivation. Technical skills can be developed; curiosity and intellectual drive are harder to teach.

A strong plus

2–3 years of experience in demanding and fast-paced environments such as:

- Strategy consulting
- Investment banking or investing
- Biotech or pharmaceutical companies
- Technology startups
- AI/data-intensive roles

Previous venture capital experience is not required.
