About the job
Marketing Freelancer — CRM & Content, Italy
Location: Remote (Milan based preferred)
Contract: Freelance (P.IVA)
Scope: Areas of responsibility, not hours — we hire for ownership
Compensation: Monthly retainer. Tell us your rate when you apply
About Swappie
Swappie is on a mission to make refurbished devices mainstream — because we believe great tech doesn’t have to cost a fortune. We help people save money without compromising on quality, giving devices a second life and making sustainable choices the easy, obvious choice. We’re an international, fast-growing team building something we’re genuinely proud of, and we’re looking for people who share our energy and want to help us grow in Italy.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a hands-on marketing freelancer to own three areas of Swappie Italy: our CRM program, our local content production, and the quality of our Italian copy. Some of it you’ll coordinate with creators, and some you’ll shoot yourself. You’ll work directly with the Country Manager for Italy and with our global team, owning areas where your impact is visible immediately, and across the whole company.
This role suits someone with a “yes, and” attitude — proactive, happy working independently, and more interested in results than in being told what to do. You work with AI as a matter of course, and you stay on top of what’s new and worth trying.
We don’t track your hours. We care about what the areas you own deliver.
What you’ll do
CRM & lifecycle
- Own Swappie Italy’s campaign and newsletter program in Braze: segmentation, strategy, campaign calendar planning, execution, reporting - and iterate
- Build a real test discipline — control groups, holdouts, and honest reads on what actually drove revenue and engagement
- Write Italian email copy that sounds like a person, not a brand
- Report monthly on incremental revenue as well as email KPIs
- Work with our global CRM Campaign specialist on tooling and standards,
while owning the Italian program yourself
Content production coordination
- Brief, cast and manage Italian UGC creators for paid social creative tests (roughly six cycles a year) as well as film and edit content yourself
- Work directly with our Growth Marketing Manager to design those tests — hooks, angles, formats
- Review assets, manage reworks, and write up what we learned so the next test is better
Italian copy quality
- Review and post-edit AI-translated marketing copy so it reads as native Italian, not translated English
- Build and maintain our Italian glossary and tone of voice
- Review creative and copy before launch
To give you a sense of scale: a handful of CRM campaigns a month, around six creative test cycles a year, and ongoing copy review.
What you bring
- CRM hands-on experience (Braze, Klaviyo, Iterable or similar) — you’ve built segments and campaigns yourself, not briefed someone else to do it
- Comfort with numbers: you can look at a result and say what it means, and what it doesn’t
- Experience briefing creators, agencies or freelancers
- Able to shoot and edit simple video yourself — comfortable on camera and handy with Cap Cut, Canva or similar
- Native Italian with strong copywriting and editing skills
- English - advanced/proficient, able to work smoothly in english
- You use AI tools daily in your actual work, and can say what you use them for and where you don’t trust them
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset — you spot the problem and propose the fix.
Nice to have: e-commerce, marketplace or consumer electronics experience.
Comfortable appearing on camera occasionally in case of collaboration with the Social Media team.
What we offer
- Ownership: you won’t be executing someone else’s plan — you’ll design the strategy and see the outcome.
- Direct work with the Country Manager on Italy’s strategy — you’ll know why, not just what
- Autonomy and chances to go entrepreneurial: identify issues, design solutions, ask for a budget and test it.
- An international team with global exposure and expertise to learn from
- In-person strategy days in Italy, or participation to content days
- Full flexibility: remote-friendly, outcome-based working
How to apply
No cover letter needed. Email with your CV or Linked In and short answers to these four questions - a few sentences is enough, don’t overcomplicate it:
- Tell us about one CRM campaign you built and sent yourself. What was the segment, what did you send, what happened, and how did you know the campaign caused it?
- If you inherited a large database that hadn’t been emailed in a long time, what would you want to know before sending anything to it?
- Tell us about a time you briefed someone else to create content — a creator, freelancer or agency. What was in the brief, and what did you do when the first version wasn’t right?
- What monthly retainer would you be looking for, under which reasoning?
If you have video content you’ve made — or appeared in — feel free to send it to make your application truly stand out. Phone-shot is completely fine; we’re not looking for production value.
What happens next
- A 30-minute intro call to meet each other and walk through your answers
- A short case study — under 90 minutes of work, and we won’t use it unless we hire you
- A 30-minute conversation with the Italy team
We read the answers before the CV, so don’t worry if your CV isn’t a perfect match: if you don’t tick every box but you own results and can write, apply anyway.
