The Group Chief Anti Financial Crime Officer (GAFC) is a control Function in Group Head Office reporting to the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali SpA.The GAFC has been appointed by and reports directly to the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali SpA.GAFC Function is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the following compliance risks in the Group:Money launderingTerrorism financingInternational Sanctions/ EmbargosAnti-bribery & corruptionAmong it, the GROUP ANTI FINANCIAL CRIME, GAFC AML Advisory Governance and Oversight is the unit responsible for the Governance of the Generali Group Companies subject to AML Regulation; The unit is also responsible to review the AML applicable framework, policies and procedures of Generali Group.Its role is varied and requires strong communication and analytical skills in order to meet the demand of being part of a global function under increasing regulatory scrutiny and management attention.The role holder, reporting to Head of Group AML Advisory, Governance & Oversight, is accountable mainly for the following activities:Identify and evaluate through gap analysis the new AML/CTF requirements, and their impacts on the GroupDraft and maintain Group AML/CTF policies, guidelines, standards and technical measuresCoordinate the cascading of the Group AML/CTF standards to the Group EntitiesProvide with opinions to Business Functions and Local Anti-Financial Crime teams (e.g., deviations from group standards, assessment of high risk customers, ordinary and extraordinary transactions)Cooperate in the definition of the AML/CTF training strategy and contents, maintain training catalogue and deliver classroom sessionsPerform anti-financial crime governance oversight reviews,
issue findings and monitor remediation actionsActively propose and manage Group AML CTF initiatives and provide AML/CTF technical and business requirements for Group ProjectsProactively cooperate with key stakeholders (Audit, Group Compliance, Risk Management)Report, communicate, and track identified issues, risks and recommendations, in alignment and coordination with Group AFC Risk Assessment and ControlsDevelop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with Group Legal Entities AML Officers and their staffSupport the preparation of regular reporting towards the Board, the Corporate Bodies/Committees and other relevant functions, tailoring the document and the details provided on the basis of the audience, ensuring the identified issues, gaps and rooms for improvements are transparently shared and acknowledged by the stakeholdersSupport AML/CTF investigations and analysis of potential SARs and prepare reports for validation and submissionManage and evolve the Anti-Financial Crime Governance Framework across the GroupCoordinate AML/CTF regulatory inspections and interactions with EU and Italian authorities Measure the complexity (riskiness) of all entities within the Group to ascertain whether specific governance and organizational arrangements (e.g., separation of Compliance and AFC Functions, etc.)
are neededSupervise the Group AFC perimeter and oversight modelSupport budget planning, monitoring and reporting activities for the AFC Function. Master Degree in Economics or LawAt least 5-7 years’ experience within international banking, financial institutions or consulting firms, gathered in Anti Financial Crime/ AML Teams and/or Audit on AML topicsGood knowledge of latest EU and Italian AML/CTF regulations and international standardsExperience in AML Governance, policy drafting and regulatory framework implementationExperience dealing with supervisory authorities and regulatory inspectionsKnowledge of SAR processes, KYC, CDD, transaction monitoring and financial crime risk managementExcellent stakeholder management, reporting and presentation skillsUnderstanding of AFC processes including identifying and evaluating financial crime risks, identifying and evaluating controls, determining root causes, and recommending impactful solutions. This should include an understanding of program governance, risk assessment, transaction monitoring, KYC, CDD and name screeningHigh degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and well-organized working methodAbility to synthesize laws, rules and regulations into practiceAbility to operate in a large financial groups, build relationships across business lines, strong communications skillsExcellent verbal (fluency) and written communication skills in EnglishAbility to work independentlyAn open, dedicated, collaborative approach, and a “can do” attitudeNice to have:CAMS/ ICA certificationsExperience in AML teams of large financial groups and insurance sectorItalian and other languages, besides English (French, German)
