Our client is an international company operating in the retail sector, currently undergoing strong expansion in Italy.

We are looking for a hands-on and highly operational Payroll Manager to take full ownership of payroll and personnel administration in Italy.

This is not a purely managerial or strategic position. The role requires a senior payroll specialist mindset — someone who enjoys the day-to-day detail, understands operational complexity, and is ready to assume full responsibility while building processes in a hands-on, growing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- End-to-end payroll management for 200+ employees (and growing)




- Manual review and validation of payroll data
- Reconciliation of variable components (night shifts, overtime, bonuses, etc.)
- Coordination with external labor consultants
- Implementation and parameterization of payroll ERP
- Development and structuring of payroll processes
- Ensure full compliance with Italian labor legislation and CCNL

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- 7+ years of payroll experience in Italy in multi-site environments
- Fluency in English (Spanish is a plus)
- Experience managing a high volume of employees
- Strong knowledge of Italian labor law and CCNL
- Hands-on experience with variable payroll components
- Experience with payroll ERP systems (implementation or migration is highly valued)
- Advanced Excel skills
