Role Title: Junior Project Manager | Utility-Scale Solar & BESS

Location: Milan | Hybrid

Salary: €45,000 – €60,000 | DoE

Piper Maddox are exclusively supporting an independent Italian renewables investor and developer as they continue to expand an impressive portfolio of utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across Italy.

Following successful awards in the recent FER-X and MACSE auctions, the company is strengthening its project delivery team and is looking for a high-potential junior Project Manager eager to develop their career within a fast-growing renewables platform.

This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers and gain exposure across the full project lifecycle , from Ready-to-Build through construction and commissioning, while also developing an understanding of asset management, commercial activities, PPA/offtake agreements and energy markets.

The company has over 200MW of PV and close to 100MW of standalone BESS entering construction , alongside an existing operating portfolio and a significant pipeline of authorised BESS projects. With a lean and entrepreneurial team, you will have the opportunity to learn quickly, take increasing ownership and develop into a Project Manager with broad exposure across the wider IPP business.

Responsibilities

- Support experienced Project Managers in the delivery of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects from RtB through to COD
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, suppliers and internal engineering and development teams
- Support project planning, scheduling, budget tracking and reporting
- Assist with construction monitoring, site activities and project meetings
- Support permitting, grid connection and technical activities throughout project execution




- Assist with commissioning and handover of completed projects to the O&M;/Asset Management team
- Develop an understanding of project contracts, commercial agreements and financing requirements
- Gain exposure to asset management, PPA/offtake activities and energy market dynamics
- Work alongside the company's developing in-house energy management and algo-trading team , gaining exposure to the commercial optimisation of renewable and BESS assets
- Take increasing responsibility for individual workstreams and projects as your experience develops

Key Skills & Experience

- Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management or a related discipline
- 1–3 years' experience in project management, engineering, construction or a related role within renewable energy
- Some exposure to solar PV, BESS, wind or other utility-scale energy projects
- Strong interest in project delivery and the wider commercial side of renewable energy
- Highly organised with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to learn in a lean, fast-paced environment
- Fluent Italian and English
