For the purpose of this vacancy, internal and internal-equivalent candidates are considered as first-tier candidates. /p h3Organizational Context and Scope /h3 pUnder the overall supervision of the Resource Management Officer (RMO) and the direct supervision of the Resource Management Specialist, the Finance Associate will be responsible and accountable for supporting the unit's financial operations, budget monitoring, accounting processes, and financial reporting in accordance with IOM policies and procedures. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liAssist in managing financial resources by monitoring and controlling assets, reserves, funds, supplies, etc. in accordance with IOM rules and regulations. /li liAssist in preparing annual budget submission including estimating staff cost as well as rental and utilities, office equipment and supplies, printing, and other contracts, services or running expenses, to include in the budget. /li liExtract and input data from various sources in financial or accounting systems. /li liAssist providing guidance in accounting, budget and financial related issues. /li liPrepare bank, cash, vendor, and general ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies when required. /li liAssist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, budget monitoring reports, and donor financial reports. /li liReviews all types of payments starting from purchases to payment requests verifying that they are duly authorised and all the supporting documents are attached therewith. /li liCreate new Vendor Accounts in Wave. /li liVerify vendor claims for accuracy and conformance with IOM finance policies and instructions.



/li liPerform claim verifications against documentation to ensure that purchases/services are properly authorised and that the goods have been received or services rendered. /li liAssist in the preparation of accounting, financial, statistical reports and other reports as required. /li liProvide assistance to all staff services such as travel, expense claims, document retrieval, etc. /li liAssist in the preparation of the annual income tax exemption declarations for staff. /li liEnsure proper and systematic completion of all posted payments and other accounting documents according to the established standards. /li liResponsible for the Petty Cash of the office. /li liPerform such other relevant duties as maybe assigned. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 h3Required Qualifications and Experience /h3 h3Education /h3 ul liBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finances, or a related field field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or, /li liHigh School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience. /li /ul pAccredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. /p h3Experience /h3 ul liExperience in accounting and financial management, including accounts payable, reconciliations, financial data processing, and record keeping; /li liExperience providing financial and administrative support services to staff, including travel claims, expense reimbursements, and handling financial inquiries; /li liExperience providing support in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, annual, and donor financial reports; /li liExperience working within a regulated environment with established financial rules, procedures, and internal controls—preferably within an international organization, UN agency, or public sector institution; and, /li liPrior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. /li /ul h3Skills /h3 ul liProficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook; previous experience in SAP is a distinct advantage; /li liAttention to detail, ability to organise paperwork in a methodical way; /li liDiscreet, details and clients-oriented, patient and willingness to learn new things; /li liStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; /li liHigh attention to detail and accuracy; /li liAbility to manage multiple priorities; and, /li liStrong financial analysis, budgeting and reporting skills. /li /ul h3Languages /h3 pAll IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish). /p pFor this position,
