Automotive Diagnostic Engineer – Cross Domain ECU

We are looking for an Automotive Diagnostic Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Advanced Engineering team focused on the development of an innovative Automotive Cross-Domain Electronic Control Unit (ECU).

The successful candidate will contribute to the definition, development, integration, testing, and validation of the ECU diagnostic system, working closely with internal engineering teams and external suppliers in a highly collaborative and technology-driven environment.

The candidate will be responsible for:

- Defining and specifying diagnostic system requirements in accordance with AUTOSAR standards.
- Structuring, developing, and maintaining Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and related diagnostic data.
- Structuring, developing, and maintaining diagnostic services.
- Defining configuration specifications for the Diagnostic Event Manager (Dem) and Function Inhibition Manager (FIM).
- Verifying the implementation of the diagnostic system by external suppliers.
- Performing diagnostic system tuning and optimization.
- Designing diagnostic system test specifications and test descriptions.




- Supporting diagnostic system validation using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems and CarMaker Diagnostic Tool.
- Supporting the definition and implementation of test automation strategies.
- Supporting FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) activities related to the diagnostic system.
- Collaborating with software, systems, functional, testing, and validation teams throughout the ECU development lifecycle.

TECH SKILLS

- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience in automotive ECU development, with a focus on diagnostics.
- Good knowledge of AUTOSAR diagnostic concepts and architecture.
- Experience with ECU testing and validation, preferably using HIL environments.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostic tools and methodologies.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international environment.
- Good command of English and Italian, both written and spoken.
