If you’re seeking a meaningful challenge with a stable career, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation Reentry (ADCRR) invites you to apply for the Physical Plant Supervisor I position. /p pIn this role, you’ll oversee general facility maintenance and construction while planning, coordinating, and directing the work of inmate crews. You’ll also apply your technical expertise by reading blueprints, preparing material takeoffs, developing cost estimates, and writing bid specifications. Join ADCRR and help maintain safe, efficient facilities while making a lasting impact through essential work and responsible leadership. /p h3Job Duties: /h3 ul liSupervises, plans, and directs the activities of subordinates and inmate crews /li liEstablishes and carries out preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment, mechanical equipment, and facility maintenance activities /li liCalculates cost estimates for maintenance/construction projects, while working within budget constraints /li liMaintains records on all equipment/tools, repairs,
and preventative maintenance /li liPerforms maintenance and construction duties on all facility buildings and/or equipment /li liCompletes related documentation as required by policy and as directed by supervisor using basic office equipment/computer /li liAttends staff meetings and training as required /li liDrives on State business /li liPerforms other duties appropriate to the assignment /li /ul h3Knowledge of: /h3 ul liBudgetary issues including estimating costs and ordering of materials /li liBasic computer skills and software, e.g., Microsoft and Google suites /li liNational and local building codes /li liStructural issues regarding building and utility services, to include blueprints and safety practices and codes /li liAll trades, i.e., electrical, electronic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, general building, and preventative maintenance /li liSupervisory principles and techniques, including employee relations and work schedule /li /ul h3Skill in: /h3 ul liOrganization and scheduling of maintenance repairs /li liEstablishing a Preventative Maintenance Program for the facility /li liTime management and organization /li liEstablishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships /li liWritten and verbal communication /li /ul h3Ability to: /h3 ul liLift/Carry 50lbs /li liPush/Pull 50lbs /li liWalk/Run 0.25 miles /li liWork in a prison environment /li liDemonstrate use of common and specialized tools, equipment, and materials /li liRead and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics /li liDemonstrate methods and practices of preventative maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction /li /ul h3Selective Preference(s): /h3 ul liOne (1) year of experience equivalent to a Building Maintenance Specialist, or two (2) years equivalent to a Building Maintenance Technician II,
