Electronic Hardware Engineer – Help us design the next generation of energy meters
Do you enjoy taking an electronic design from the first schematic all the way through testing, validation and production?
Carlo Gavazzi is looking for an Electronic Hardware Engineer to join our Controls R&D; team in Lainate.
Carlo Gavazzi is an international company specializing in Industrial and Building Automation, with 23 sales companies and 5 manufacturing plants across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Our technologies include sensors, monitoring relays, timers, energy management systems, solid-state relays and safety devices.
Your role
You will design the electronics behind our energy meters, working across the complete product-development lifecycle—from concept and component selection through prototype testing, validation and industrialization.
You will
- Design analog and digital electronic circuits and select the appropriate components.
- Optimize measurement performance, including accuracy, stability, noise and signal-chain design.
- Define and execute verification and validation plans based on applicable energy-meter standards.
- Perform electrical safety, EMC and environmental testing.
- Work hands-on with oscilloscopes, calibrators, power analyzers, climatic chambers and other professional laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate closely with firmware engineers on hardware/firmware architecture and cybersecurity-related component choices.
- Use AI tools to analyze circuits,
simulate solutions and anticipate potential design issues.
- Support the complete industrialization process, from concept and prototyping through to production start-up.
You will also have access to our EMC and UL testing capabilities in Belluno, with the position working regularly across Lainate and Belluno.
What we're looking for
You bring
- A degree in Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in hardware design.
- Strong knowledge of electronic hardware design principles, tools and techniques.
- A hands-on approach to laboratory testing and measurement.
- An interest in the interface between hardware and embedded firmware, including the ability to read embedded C.
- Experience using modern tools, including AI, to support analysis and simulation.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
- An autonomous, pragmatic and collaborative working style.
