ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Manager (Environment & Safety) to lead, oversee and continuously improve our Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems. In this role, you will ensure full regulatory compliance, foster a strong culture of Safety and Environmental across the company, and effectively manage a small team. The ideal candidate holds a deep technical knowledge of Italian environmental and workplace safety laws, alongside practical experience in ISO standards implementation and people management.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management Systems (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001): Maintain, implement and audit the integrated Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems; lead internal audits and coordinate external certification audits.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Italian HSE legislation (D. Lgs. 81/08 for Health & Safety and D. Lgs. 152/06 for Environmental laws).

Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Update and maintain the Risk Assessment Document (DVR) and carry out technical risk assessments across company operations.

Environmental Management: Oversee waste management, emissions, discharges, MUD declarations, and all environmental reporting requirements.

Training & Culture: Define annual HSE training programs,



ensure mandatory training compliance, and promote a proactive safety culture within the organization.

Authority & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for external regulatory authorities, inspection bodies (ASL, ARPA, Vigili del Fuoco) and certification bodies.

Incident & Incident Investigation: Conduct root-cause analysis for workplace accidents or near-misses and implement effective corrective/preventive actions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Direct Management: Directly manages and supervises a team of 2 HSE specialists.

Responsibilities include setting priorities, delegating tasks, performance monitoring, training support, and day-to-day workload organization within the HSE department.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Industrial or any related fields) or Prevention Techniques for the Environment and Workplace (or any equivalent technical disciplines).

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in an HSE management or coordination role within a structured corporate or manufacturing environment.

RSPP qualification (Modules A, B, C) in accordance with D. Lgs. 81/08 (mandatory)

Internal/Lead Auditor certification for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is considered a strong plus.

SKILLS:

In-Depth Knowledge of HSE Legislation:



Thorough understanding of Italian Health and Safety Law (D. Lgs. 81/08) and Environmental Regulations (D. Lgs. 152/06).

ISO Standards Expertise: Hands-on experience with ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) frameworks.

Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to mentor, direct and motivate direct reports.

Communication & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal teams, senior management, unions, and external regulatory bodies.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Mindset: Pragmatic approach to identifying risks, conducting root-cause investigations and implementing pragmatic solutions.

Project & Audit Management: Excellent organizational skills to oversee audits, compliance schedules and safety projects simultaneously.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8am to 5.30pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitated.

TRAVEL

Occasional overseas and domestic travel may be required to support the rapid growth of the company.
