/ph3Job Description /h3pHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks within our Rolling Stock Engineering Department.
The position is based in Pistoia or Napoli - IT.
/ph3Accountabilities /h3ulliPrepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS) for mechanical components /liliAnalyze and assessment of technical documentation from Suppliers /liliPrepare and verify mechanical installation/integration drawings/specifications /liliConduct design reviews (both internal and with suppliers) for the assigned work package, under the supervision of relevant Engineering Managers and Project Engineers /liliAttend at system stand-alone type test and review of type test reports /liliSupport manufacturing, testing and validation phases /liliReview design documentation with customers and suppliers /liliPrepare structural drawings (carbody shell, bogie frames, mechanical components) /liliPrepare equipment layout and mechanical routing drawings /liliPrepare Bill of Materials (BoM) /liliEnsure compliance with input requirements, international railway regulations and standards and project constraints (time, cost, quality)
/liliPrepare the documentation required for vehicle approval and support the homologation phase /li /ulh3Required Skills / Knowledge /h3ulliExperience (3-5 years) in the Railway sector or in complex industrial environments /liliGood knowledge of main railway regulations and standards /liliGood knowledge of IBM DOORS requirements management tool /liliGood knowledge of engineering processes and railway operations /liliGood knowledge of mechanical disciplines (installation, interfaces, component design, etc.) /liliGood knowledge of design verification and validation methodologies /liliGood knowledge of mechanical CAD systems (Catia or Creo preferred) /liliGood knowledge of piping systems, fittings and joint design methodologies /liliGood knowledge of noise/vibration modelling and assessment of mechanical components /liliGood knowledge of welded structure design rules and standards (EN *****) /liliGood knowledge of PLM systems (Windchill preferred) /liliGood knowledge of office automation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) /liliAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, international and multicultural environment /liliStrong planning and organizational skills, alongside team-working and problem-solving mindset /liliAbility to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers, partners, customers)
/liliAbility to work within project teams under minimum supervision /li /ulh3Desired Skills / Knowledge /h3ulliKnowledge of railway vehicles running dynamics performance assessment /liliFast learner with strong willingness to stay up to date with technological developments /liliGood business acumen combined with solid technical skills /liliGood communication and interpersonal skills /li /ulh3Education / Qualifications /h3ulliMaster's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical disciplines mandatory).
