JOB TITLE: Telecoms Preparedness & Capacity Development Consultant (LTC)TYPE OF CONTRACT: WAE Consultant level IIUNIT/DIVISION: Technology Division - Logistics & Telecommunications Cluster (LTC) Telecoms AreaDUTY STATION (City, Country): Remote/with frequent travelDURATION: 11 months BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:The Information and Telecommunication Emergency Preparedness and Response Branch (TECF) leads WFP’s I&T; emergency management in humanitarian crises, coordinating surge capacity, operational information management and I&T; emergency preparedness and response analysis. TECF also supports WFP’s responsibilities as lead agency for the Global Logistics and Telecommunications Cluster, working with partners to ensure that humanitarian responders have access to reliable, coordinated and cost-effective communications services during emergencies. Following the merger of the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster and the Logistics Cluster into the Logistics and Telecommunications Cluster (LTC),



LTC brings logistics and emergency telecommunications under one coordination structure. This creates an opportunity to strengthen preparedness, capacity building, operational readiness, and common service delivery in a more integrated and field-oriented manner. The LTC Preparedness and Capacity Development consultant will support the LTC Telecoms Area in designing, delivering and overseeing preparedness delivery, preparedness-for-response (i.e. response readiness), and related capacity development initiatives.
