ppDescription /p pReinvent how the world's largest robotics network gets deployed. /p pAmazon is seeking a Senior Manager for our Robotics Delivery, Packaging Innovation to define and lead the Design for Deployment (DfD) technical deep-dive, and associated implementation strategy, across our global robotics fulfillment network. This is a founding, build-it-from-scratch role: you will define what "deployable" means for every robotics technology Amazon ships, and your decisions will shape how thousands of implementations happen across six continents. /p pAmazon's culture encourages an entrepreneurial approach and expects engineers and managers alike to take a high level of ownership in solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment. /p pThe role could be based in Vercelli or alternatively in London or Luxembourg with ~60% travel across Europe and internationally for design reviews and field validation activities. /p pThe applicable collective agreement for this role is CBA for Executives of the Industrial Sector (CCNL per i Dirigenti di aziende del Settore Industriale). The position is classified at level Dirigente. /p pThe minimum gross annual base salary for this position is listed below. The base salary listed corresponds to working on a full-time basis. For tempo parziale hours, the salary will be pro-rated. /p pAmazon reserves the right to offer a higher salary and/or level, depending on the candidate's skills, competencies, and experience. Amazon's package may include a sign on payment. In addition, the candidate may be eligible to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. /p pYour recruiting team will share final salary and any restricted stock unit scheme if applicable, depending on skills and requirements. /p pIn addition to statutory benefits, and those applicable to the relevant CBA, company supplementary benefits may apply subject to further terms. /p pItaly - 90,100 EUR gross annually. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 pThis is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground technical role. In the role you will: /p ul lipServe as the organization's DfD technical authority, overview engineering drawings, mechatonic designs, and controls architectures, to embed quantified deployment requirements into engineering design, providing a single consolidated deployment voice and force multiplying deployment teams across multiple technology programs. /p /li lipDrive technically complex DfD programs: determining feasibility of infrastructure builds at scale, identifying when deployment issues stem from technical design decisions, and driving engineering to design to a defined deployment bar (mechanical, electrical, controls, layout, system integration and mechatronic domains). /p /li lipAdvise VPs and the broader Robotics leadership on strategy, governance mechanisms and trade-offs, drive clarity where the problem itself may be undefined, optimize cross-organizational structures that enable teams to deliver independently. /p /li lipCoach deployment teams to engage in engineering design reviews, design decisions, and feed field learnings back to product teams systematically. You'll mentor deployment engineers and TiPMs, sharing DfD best practices and technical deep-dive methods and helping managers guide career growth. /p /li lipDefine and own the end-to-end DfD strategy across all technology programs, ensuring every program has a quantified deployment bar (installation duration, workforce management, safety risk, cost per unit install). /p /li lipForce multiply deployment teams by creating, optimizing,
and driving adoption of DfD mechanisms that enable teams to operate independently and at scale. /p /li lipDecompose complex deployment design problems into straightforward infrastructure solutions; define DfD Core Tenets and quantified requirements that engineering designs to across all solutions. /p /li lipEstablish and evangelize the principle that deployment data is influence currency: creating systems and expectations for teams to document and quantify deployment pain caused by design decisions, replacing anecdotal feedback with systematic, data-driven design influence. /p /li lipRemediate critical and/or endemic deployment design problems; make trade-offs between business opportunity, resources, and sustainability with a long-term perspective. /p /li lipIdentify endemic deployment problems, such as recurring modularity constraints, cable management challenges, or commissioning inefficiencies, diagnosing them and drive engineering to eliminate them at the source rather than compensating in the field. /p /li lipDrive measurable DfD outcomes and metrics, such as reduction in deployment duration, cost per unit, first-time installation success rate. /p /li /ul h3A day in the life /h3 pAs a Sr. Manager, you will be the person that engineers and design owners come to for the deployment verdict. Your work will have global impact across multiple organizational goals and program-related metrics. /p ul lipYou'll operate with complete independence in an area where business and infrastructure build strategy may not yet be defined. /p /li lipYou will spend real time on the floor, next to the machines and the teams installing them, which is exactly where this role earns its credibility and its impact. /p /li lipYou'll partner with other Robotics teams to validate design improvements and quantify realized savings against targets. /p /li lipYou'll drive the cultural shift across the organization: coaching teams to stop absorbing complexity and start preventing it, building confidence in deployment engineers to challenge design decisions with data, and establishing new norms where field intelligence flows systematically back to product teams. /p /li /ul pNo two days will be the same in our fast-paced environment, offering opportunities for strategic impact as part of a collaborative, high-performing team. /p h3About the team /h3 pRobotics Delivery Packaging Innovation is a diverse and multi-talented team with a proven track record of overcoming challenging technical problems to deliver Amazon's leading-edge robotics technologies in its fulfillment, transportation, and delivery network across the world. Our high-performing team blends engineering know-how, problem solving, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and effective communication to deliver positive results for our customers. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul lipBachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field /p /li lipExperience mentoring or training the engineering community on complex technical issues /p /li lipExperience in a technical program management in the hardware/mechatronic development,
deployment engineering domain or equivalent /p /li lipTechnical depth in mechanical, electrical, controls, and mechatronic designs /p /li lipExperience defining and owning strategies or equivalent scalable deployment-readiness frameworks. /p /li lipExperience determining feasibility of infrastructure builds at scale for technical products and decomposing complex processes into infrastructure solutions. /p /li lipExperience advising VP organizations and senior leaders on deployment strategy, technical trade-offs, and infrastructure build prioritization. /p /li lipExperience with written communication including authoring narratives presenting to leadership. /p /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul lipMaster's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field /p /li lipKnowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques /p /li lipproject management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or other Agile certification /p /li lipExperience with robotic deployments in warehouse or fulfillment environments across multiple countries, adapting processes across regulatory and operational environments. /p /li lipKnowledge of DfD/DfX principles: modularity, pre-assembly, standardization, installation sequence optimization, error-proofing, commissioning efficiency. /p /li lipExperience with hands-on hardware, mechatronics, or robotics engineering design of physical product or systems. /p /li lipExperience managing governance mechanisms including steering committees, design reviews or equivalent. /p /li lipExperience with product design across multiple technology programs simultaneously, partnering with engineering teams. /p /li lipExperience with Amazon Robotics or similar warehouse automation platforms. /p /li lipExperience contributing to Operational Plan and organizational goal narratives. /p /li /ul pAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
