/li /ulh3Job Mission /h3pAs a Senior RD Designer, you will drive the development of advanced custom and special solutions for customer applications worldwide.
You will work closely with Product Engineering (PE), key customers and the RD team to transform complex requirements into robust, innovative and industrialized designs that strengthen Piab's position as a global leader in automation and vacuum technology.
/ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliSupport Product Engineers (PEs) globally with custom requests by analyzing needs and proposing feasible technical solutions.
/liliProvide direct technical support to key customers, especially for critical applications, acting as a senior technical counterpart in discussions and design reviews.
/liliLead the design and development of high?level, complex custom and special solutions, from concept to released design.
/liliUse CAD (Inventor and/or SolidWorks) to create 3D models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings, ensuring high quality and manufacturability.
/liliWork efficiently with PDM/PLM systems to manage product data, revisions, and documentation in line with internal standards.
/liliCollaborate closely with the RD team on new concepts, prototypes, and technology evaluations.
/liliPrioritize as signed projects and applications in parallel, ensuring on?time delivery and clear communication with stakeholders.
/liliContribute to continuous improvement of design methods, tools, and standards within the team.
/li /ulh3Preferred Competencies /h3ulliStrong expertise in 3D CAD,



preferably Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
/liliSolid experience working with PDM/PLM systems for product data and configuration management.
/liliSenior-level technical competence in mechanical or mechatronic design, ideally within industrial equipment, automation or similar fields.
/liliProven experience working closely with customers on custom or special solution development (from requirement gathering to finalized design).
/liliAbility to manage and follow several applications and projects at the same time, with good prioritization and time?management skills.
/liliStrong teamwork orientation and excellent collaboration skills across functions (PE, RD, sales, operations, etc.).
/liliGood level of English in speaking, writing and listening, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
/liliAn open, proactive and solution?oriented personality with a high sense of ownership and responsibility for delivered designs.
/li /ulh3Experience And Education /h3ulliBachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics or a closely related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
/liliSeveral years (typically9+ years) of experience in mechanical and/or mechatronic design in an industrial environment.
/liliPrior experience in custom/special machinery, automation systems, vacuum technology, or similar technical domains is an advantage.
/liliExperience in a global or multi?site environment, working with international colleagues and customers, is a plus.
