Your Responsibilities Will Include:

- Analyzing and optimizing the efficiency of nuclear power generation and thermal energy systems.
- Developing strategies to improve energy utilization, reduce waste, and enhance plant performance.
- Working with reactor engineers to optimize heat transfer,
coolant flow, and turbine efficiency.
- Monitoring plant performance metrics and conducting energy audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission), DOE (Department of Energy), and environmental regulations.
- Supporting research and development of new energy technologies, including advanced reactor designs and small modular reactors (SMRs).
- Assisting in nuclear plant upgrades, retrofits, and modifications to enhance energy efficiency.
- Evaluating alternative energy integration with nuclear power, such as district heating, hydrogen production, and grid resilience.
- Conducting risk assessments and cost-benefit analyses for energy efficiency projects.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers, to improve plant operations.
