The salary listed in the job description reflects the full pay range for this position, from entry level through advanced career stages. /p pbNEW EMPLOYEES ARE HIRED AT, OR NEAR THE ENTRY POINT SHOWN, DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE. /b /p pLeads a crew of workers engaged in operating equipment and performing maintenance work associated with various projects within the Water /p h3Examples of duties /h3 ul liLeads a crew of workers in operating equipment and performing maintenance work associated with various projects within Water Division of the County. /li liProvides direction, training, and assistance to employees; coordinates daily work activities; organizes and prioritizes workload; makes work assignments and evaluates work; monitors status of work; troubleshoots problem situations. /li liAssists in ensuring adherence to established safety procedures; monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals; initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations; coordinates activities to maintain safety and traffic control at work sites, including flagging of traffic and setup of safety cones, barricades, and road/warning signs; reports accidents, injuries, and other incidents. /li liAssists in coordinating, prioritizing, scheduling, and overseeing projects; reviews or issues work orders; provides input on special projects; assists in determining and coordinating necessary equipment, materials, and manpower to conduct projects; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; dispatches crew members, vehicles, or equipment to work sites as needed; reports damage/vandalism,
potentially hazardous/dangerous situations, or other problems to supervisor; responds to problems or emergency situations. /li liMonitor work conducted by contractors; inspects work to ensure quality and compliance with terms of contracts. /li liOversees and assists in performing various tasks involving water utilities maintenance and water distribution systems projects; schedules, coordinates, and conducts physical locates of utility services; coordinates maintenance, repair, and installation of water service lines/mains; replaces older/worn service lines with new upgraded service lines; installs new water main; installs, repairs, and replaces sample stations; installs, repairs or replaces flushing stations; monitors water quality; performs field testing of water samples; installs, repairs or replaces valves; coordinates rebuilding and maintenance of pumps and related components; restores roads, sidewalks, and other work sites to original condition after completion of work. /li liPerforms general/manual tasks associated with division projects; sharpens blades and replaces parts; climbs ladders; sets up or arranges equipment for special events/activities; lifts/moves furniture, equipment, and heavy materials; assists with cleanup following hurricanes, storms, or emergency situations. /li liResponds to complaints and questions related to Water Division activities; research problems and provides information; formulates and initiates plan of action to correct problems/issues. /li liCoordinates response to emergency calls; evaluates service calls and determines needed manpower, equipment, parts, and materials.
/li liOperates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with division projects. /li liPerforms general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment and tools in operable condition; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment. /li liMonitors inventory levels of supplies and materials; ensures availability of adequate supplies, tools, and materials to conduct work activities; initiates requests for new/replacement materials; obtains competitive bids and price quotes. /li liPerforms administrative tasks; provides budgetary input; reviews logs/forms completed by staff members. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liHigh school diploma or GED required. /li liTwo (2) years of related experience. /li liFingerprinting required. /li liLICENSES/CERTIFICATES ul liMust possess and maintain a valid Class 2 Water Distribution Operator license. /li liValid Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification or obtain within six (6) months of hire. /li liFlorida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic) certification or obtain within six (6) months of hire. /li liAsbestos Worker or Supervisor Certification within one (1) year of hire. /li liMust possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle as provided in CMA 5805. /li /ul /li /ul h3Supplemental information /h3 ul liSalary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications. /li liEssential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency.
