Field Application Specialist – Italy

Location: Italy – Remote
Travel: Approximately 70–75% across Italy, with occasional international travel
Reports to: Director of Global Accounts

A global provider of industrial ultrasound and condition-monitoring solutions is seeking a Field Application Specialist to support the implementation, training, adoption, and ongoing success of its technologies across a major strategic customer account.

The role is based remotely in Italy, with a preference for candidates located in the Northern region, and involves extensive travel to customer sites throughout the country.

The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance, reliability, operations, and engineering teams, providing hands-on technical support, training, coaching, troubleshooting, site assessments, and program audits. The role will be instrumental in helping customers integrate predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and condition-based lubrication practices into their day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the implementation of condition-monitoring and industrial technology solutions across customer sites throughout Italy.
- Deliver onsite technical training, coaching, workshops, and support to maintenance, reliability, operations, and engineering teams.
- Conduct site assessments, program audits, follow-up visits, and technical reviews to drive long-term customer adoption.
- Help customers apply predictive maintenance and condition-monitoring technologies to improve equipment reliability and maintenance performance.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and application support for products, software, and customer programs.
- Build strong relationships with site-level maintenance and engineering teams,



regional stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Identify operational challenges and provide practical recommendations to improve reliability, maintenance practices, and program maturity.
- Work closely with technical support, customer success, sales, and global account teams to deliver a strong customer experience.
- Manage a high level of independent travel, customer priorities, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records of customer activities, recommendations, and follow-up actions through CRM systems.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a background in reliability, maintenance, technical field service, industrial engineering, or a similar technical discipline, combined with strong customer-facing and communication skills.

Candidates should have:

- 3+ years of experience in reliability, maintenance, technical field service, or a similar technical customer-facing position.
- Hands-on experience with rotating equipment, industrial machinery, manufacturing processes, or industrial maintenance.
- Experience providing technical support, consulting, training, or troubleshooting directly at customer sites.
- Confidence delivering technical presentations, workshops, or training sessions to groups of customers or employees.
- Experience working with enterprise, strategic, or multi-site customer accounts.




- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently in a remote, field-based environment with significant travel.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage customer activities and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A valid driving licence and the ability to travel extensively throughout Italy.
- Fluent Italian and professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

- Experience with ultrasound inspection or condition-monitoring technologies.
- Experience with other predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, or lubrication monitoring.
- Engineering, industrial technology, maintenance, or related technical qualification.
- Reliability or predictive maintenance certifications.
- Experience working within an international or multicultural organisation.
