This person should thrive in a changing and dynamic environment and possess the ability to direct, plan, establish, and implement a variety of programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees, plant facilities, and equipment. /p pAs the Safety Manager, they must ensure safe work conditions and practices exist that meet all applicable Safety regulations and company policies. This position will coach site management and personnel on the recognition, elimination and control of occupational hazards and risks. /p pThe position requires an experienced professional with excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills. Prior Process Safety Management (PSM) experience is required. /p h3ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: /h3 ul liLead the development, implementation, and evaluation of site EHS programs and policies, mitigate workplace risks, as well as monitor processes and recordkeeping systems to ensure regulatory compliance. /li liSupport training, certification, and environmental health and safety objectives.



Perform periodic safety inspections and compliance audits. /li liInteracts with corporate EHS team on the deployment of Group Wide programs at the site, and to collaborate on the development of Balchem-wide programs/practices. /li liAssists corporate EHS team with conducting audits of other Balchem sites occasionally. /li liCoordinates and/or administers EHS related training activities to ensure that all employees are aware of their EHS responsibilities and can operate in a safe and legal manner. /li liInvestigates accidents and incidents to determine the cause and recommends changes to work practices or equipment to minimize or eliminate future safety risks. /li liConducts evaluations and investigations of exposure to noise, particulates, gases, fumes etc. and recommends measures to ensure maximum employee protection. /li liPrepares safety and compliance reports as required by management and outside organizations. /li liPerforms other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and the EHS Culture. /li /ul h3REQUIREMENTS: /h3 ul liBachelors or Master's degree in an EHS related Science or Engineering field /li liMinimum 8 years of relevant experience with an emphasis in EHS program management.
