Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior SAP SD/MM Consultant to join our Operations team, supporting a business-critical SAP landscape within a fast-paced FMCG environment. This is a senior operational support role requiring deep functional expertise across SAP SD and MM, with a strong focus on Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes, logistics operations, system integrations, and business-critical support activities.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing expert functional support, leading complex issue resolution, driving continuous improvements, and collaborating with business stakeholders, Local IT, developers, and third-party providers. The role also requires mentoring junior team members and ensuring operational continuity during key financial and compliance periods.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide senior-level functional support across SAP SD and MM within a live production environment.
- Own and support the end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) process, ensuring business continuity and operational excellence.
- Lead the resolution of complex SAP issues involving Sales, Logistics, Materials Management, Billing, and Distribution processes.
- Manage and troubleshoot EDI integrations, electronic invoicing, and interfaces with multiple satellite systems.
- Support logistics operations, including the activation of new 3PL warehouse/storage locations and associated SAP configuration.
- Design, review, and support complex functional specifications (RFCs) and collaborate closely with development teams throughout delivery.
- Support Business Intelligence (BI) integrations, including interface improvements and new reporting or data extraction requirements.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Perform SAP configuration (customising), testing, deployment, and production support activities.
- Investigate and resolve integration issues across SAP and connected satellite applications.
- Provide functional expertise during project enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce and maintain functional documentation, process documentation, and knowledge-sharing materials.




- Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance on complex operational issues.

The role includes responsibility for supporting critical operational processes, including:

- Resolution of electronic invoicing issues to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support for monthly billing closure activities alongside Finance and Administration teams.
- Investigation and resolution of SAP Agency-related issues.
- Support Customer Service and Logistics with new developments, corrections, and functional enhancements.
- Activation and configuration validation for new 3PL storage locations.
- Execution of mass sales order repricing activities.
- Support business rollout activities, including validation, testing, deployment, and go-live support.
- Oversee mass uploads of credit and debit notes.
- Resolve complex integration issues across SAP and connected satellite systems.
- Support statutory reporting activities, including Intrastat processes where applicable.

Critical Support Activities

This position plays a key role in maintaining business operations during high-impact periods. Responsibilities include supporting:

- Billing closure and month-end processing.
- Electronic invoicing compliance and issue resolution.
- Business-critical EDI processing failures.
- BI interface and reporting issues impacting business operations.
- Financial and statutory reporting deadlines.





The successful consultant will be comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment and providing additional support during key business periods when required. Required Skills & Experience

Essential

- Extensive experience as a Senior SAP SD/MM Functional Consultant.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
- Deep expertise across SAP SD and MM modules with a strong operational support background.
- Excellent understanding of end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.
- Strong SAP customising/configuration experience across SD and MM.
- Proven debugging capability and ability to work alongside ABAP developers to resolve complex production issues.
- Experience supporting SAP integrations with multiple satellite systems.
- Strong knowledge of EDI processes and electronic invoicing.
- Experience supporting logistics operations, warehouse processes, and 3PL integrations.
- Experience producing and reviewing functional specifications (RFCs).
- Strong understanding of pricing, billing, customer master data, and logistics execution.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working closely with business stakeholders, Local IT, developers, and third-party vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a business-critical production support environment.
- Fluent Italian (mandatory).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

- Experience within the FMCG industry.
- Experience supporting SAP BI integrations and reporting interfaces.
- Knowledge of statutory reporting processes such as Intrastat.
- Experience working within international SAP support organisations.
- SAP S/4HANA certification is advantageous.
