Quality Manager
Location: Brescia, Italy
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: €45,000–€55,000 gross annual salary, depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and develop the quality function within an established and growing food manufacturing business specialising in dairy products and cheese production.
This is a highly operational role, with a strong presence on the production floor and responsibility for quality across both dairy manufacturing and packaging operations . Reporting directly to General Management, you will drive quality assurance, quality control, compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, implement and monitor company-wide quality policies, procedures and standards
- Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Oversee process quality throughout the production chain
- Work closely with Production to ensure compliance with quality, hygiene, food safety and regulatory standards
- Supervise quality across both dairy/cheese production and packaging operations
- Lead the management of non-conformities, customer complaints and quality issues
- Define, implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Develop and strengthen Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs and performance metrics
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, process optimisation and operational efficiency
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Manage relationships with certification bodies, customers and other external stakeholders
- Support General Management with process governance and organisational improvement
- Deliver quality training and awareness initiatives to build a strong quality culture across the business
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
- 5–8 years’ experience in Quality roles within the food manufacturing industry
- Strong experience managing production quality and quality systems
- Good knowledge of food industry quality management systems and regulatory requirements
- Experience developing and implementing quality procedures, processes and operational methodologies
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to work closely with production teams and manufacturing lines
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience working with quality KPIs, audits, non-conformities and corrective actions
