What does the company do?
The company is a deep-tech scaleup building electrochemical deposition (ECD) equipment and processes for semiconductor manufacturing. Its proprietary technology plates metal up to five times faster than conventional methods while staying uniform on the most complex patterns, solving a key packaging challenge behind high-performance computing, AI hardware, AR/VR, IoT and automotive. It is an agile challenger in an industry dominated by very large players, where work goes straight into a product rather than into a report.
What’s it like working here?
The environment is fast, technical and highly collaborative. It is a small team working in short cycles, where mistakes are visible and fixed in flight, and people are expected to say what they think early and change their mind when the data says so. Processes exist, but much is still to be built: everyone contributes actively, not just executes.
The challenge: making sure commitments land on the date they were made
As a Technical Project Manager based in the lab, cleanroom and workshop near Padua, you will own the timeline of everything still in development, from joint development programs with foundries, OSATs and materials partners to the internal process development that feeds them. This is technical project management, not coordination.
Key responsibilities include
- Owning scope, milestones and critical path for every external and internal development program, with one baseline visible to everyone.
- Building a single plan across microfabrication and electrochemistry, setting dependencies and keeping both teams aligned.
- Running weekly planning and monthly re-baselining, with an honest view of lab and tool capacity.
- Reporting to the CEO and leadership team, and managing status, change control and escalation with partners.
- Owning program budgets and the risk register, flagging overruns and slips while they can still be corrected.
- Building the project management function from year two, recruiting and leading a JDP Program Manager and project engineers.
- Who are we looking for?
Someone engineers argue with, and then follow: a rigorous project manager who leads without hierarchical authority and wants to understand the process, not just schedule it.
Ideal candidates will have
- A degree in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry
- 10+ years running technical development programs (pure delivery, IT or construction PM is not a fit)
- Experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing equipment (highly preferred)
- Exposure to chemistry or electrochemistry, such as plating, wet processing, coatings or batteries (a strong plus)
- Experience with customer-facing development programs
- Solid command of critical path, capacity planning, risk registers and change control, using MS Project or equivalent
- PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or IPMA B/C certification
- Fluent English; Italian is a plus
The offer
- Base 50-60k plus MBO premio
- Full-time role with high ownership on a technology still being developed while it is being sold
- The opportunity to build the company's operating rhythm and project management function from scratch
- On-site in San Martino di Lupari (Padua), with travel to partners
