Within the IT Infrastructure Global Network Team, the Network and Cloud Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of MSC's global network and cloud connectivity services.

The role contributes to the evolution of a secure, scalable, highly available, and automated infrastructure spanning on-premises datacenters, cloud environments, and global business locations.

Key mission areas include:

•Operate, secure, and optimize enterprise network services across on-premises and cloud environments.

•Design and implement resilient network architectures supporting business-critical applications and services.

•Develop and maintain cloud networking solutions, connectivity models, and security controls.

•Drive infrastructure standardization, automation, and operational excellence.

•Provide L3 support and technical leadership during incidents, escalations, projects, and migrations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Design and implement cloud networking solutions within Azure and other cloud environments.

•Manage and optimize virtual networks, connectivity, segmentation, routing, load balancing, and hybrid integration.





•Contribute to cloud adoption initiatives and infrastructure modernization programs.

•Implement network security controls and best practices aligned with corporate security policies.

•Support firewall, WAF, remote-access, site-to-site VPN, segmentation, and Zero Trust initiatives.

•Participate in vulnerability remediation, risk assessments, and security reviews.

•Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network services, including routing, switching, load balancing, DNS, and firewall platforms.

•Ensure network availability, performance, resiliency, and scalability across global locations.

•Provide advanced troubleshooting and L3 support for complex incidents and service disruptions.

•Support NOC teams through documentation, knowledge transfer, and escalation assistance.

•Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.

•Contribute to operational tooling, monitoring, alerting, and reporting platforms.

•Identify opportunities to simplify operations, improve reliability, and reduce manual activities.

•Participate in global transformation initiatives, cloud migrations, network refresh programs, mergers and acquisitions, and service onboarding projects.

•Collaborate with application, security, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver network solutions.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

•Provide timely, complete and accurate responses to Global Network Manager questions and inquiries in a positive and constructive manner.

•Complete ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the Company.

•Participate in defining and implementing project good practices and quality processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

•Experience in network design, network administration, technical support and network operations. Experience in Cloud networking.

•Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN, and network security principles.

•Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, HPE Aruba, Fortinet and Net Scaler.

•Strong experience with Azure networking services, including:

oVirtual Networks (VNet)

oNetwork Security Groups (NSG)

oAzure Firewall

oLoad Balancers

oApplication Gateway

oVPN Gateway

oExpress Route

oPrivate Endpoints

oVirtual WAN

•Understanding of cloud architectures, hybrid connectivity, and high-availability design patterns.

•Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale network environments.

•Experience supporting cloud-hosted workloads and hybrid infrastructures.





•Experience with monitoring, observability, log management, and incident response processes.

•Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Power Shell, Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Git Hub, or Azure Dev Ops.

•Experience with network troubleshooting, performance optimization, and capacity planning.

In compliance with applicable pay transparency legislation, we provide the following information regarding the initial remuneration envisaged for this position.

The position will be classified within the Employee category, at one of the C2, C3, B1 or B2 levels under the Italian Metalworking Industry National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria).

The classification level and any additional remuneration components supplementing the base salary will be determined based on an assessment, carried out during the selection process, of objective and neutral criteria such as, by way of example, the candidate’s professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy and the responsibilities required by the role.
