In addition, the job holder manages thebr/Office in Bossaso and its operations in accordance with the strategies, objectives and provides regular reporting for the region.br/This is a national/resident position based in Bossaso, Somalia. /p h3bAccountabilities functional responsibilities /b /h3 ul liEnsures the effective implementation of the delegation's operational strategy and objectives /li liOversees and monitors operational activities in the AoR and identifies operational gaps, emerging humanitarian needs /li liProvides analysis of the security environment and related risks, and suggests measures and supervises their implementation /li liEnsures that security rules and procedures are adhered by all staff and visitors /li liDevelops and maintains contacts with, and represents the ICRC towards a range of interlocutors: regional government authorities, religious leaders,



Civil Society Organizations and INGOs as per Somalia delegation networking priority and strategy /li liSupports the communication department’s missions and initiatives (stake-holder mapping, audio-visual, beneficiaries’ interviews) /li liMaintains constructive relations with the Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS) Bossaso branch and sub-branches /li liProvides regular reporting on the security situation and in case of security incident or event likely to affect staff security /li liProduces written communication relevant for the AoR, including field trip reports, Minutes of Meetings, and specific analytical memos /li liEnsures the effective management of human, financial, logistical and material resources allocated to the office /li liMonitors the Performance Management Development (PMD) activities for employees under supervision, ensures that job descriptions are up to date /li liSupports the employees under supervision in their personal development by coaching and advising them on the available internal and external training and development programmes /li liEnsures timely and accurate internal reporting /li /ul h3bSkills and qualifications /b /h3 h3bCertifications / Education required /b /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science or equivalent qualification in a related field of study /li /ul h3bProfessional experience required /b /h3 ul li6 years’ overall professional experience; experience working in the Humanitarian sector is a plus /li liComprehensive knowledge of and exposure to a wide range of humanitarian assistance,
