Schedules may vary and are subject to change. /p pCore Hours: 7am-5pm must be available for occassional weekends /p h3bWant to make an impact? /b /h3 pThe Environmental, Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the health and safety of the plant workforce and environment by monitoring and evaluating health and safety conditions; assuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures and governmental standards; and maintenance of the EHS Programs for the site. The primary objective is to ensure a safe and incident-free work environment including methodologies, initiatives and strategies that promote safe operations, safety awareness, training and continuous improvement to eliminate or control unsafe behaviors, environments and hazards. /p h3bWays you will make a difference /b /h3 ul liProvide EHS leadership and oversight for both the Forest Park and Maywood Drive (Bellwood) manufacturing facilities, ensuring compliance, employee engagement, and continuous improvement in safety performance.
/li liPresent EHS programs to train employees in site safety practices by promoting and leading a site culture where safety is ingrained as a core value with all employees /li liDrive the key effective, sustainable implementation of corporate and site EHS initiatives, strategies, programs and procedures, responsibilities via hands on leadership, coaching and teamwork /li liFacilitate, train and coach employees from onboarding to OSHA required annual training and other safety related topics to ensure compliance with government mandated training /li liCollaborate with employees to identify and implement solutions to safety issues identified in inspections and investigations to eliminate incidents and prevent recurrence /li liReview incident and injury reporting and analyze data to identify trends /li liEnsure compliance with regulations and company policies by routinely interacting with employees on the plant floor /li liAnalyze EHS programs, conditions and behaviors and recommend changes to continuously improve site EHS performance /li liLead and ensure thorough investigation of all incidents, in coordination with site leadership /li liFoster/develop a culture where everyone is actively engaged in performing their work in a safe manner and co-workers hold each other accountable to prevent at-risk behaviors /li liOversee regulatory compliance audits/inspections and associated record keeping in partnership with human resources and oversees workers’ compensation claims by working with the insurance company, injured employees and clinics from the opening of the claim and until the claim closes /li liProvide EHS functional and technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function /li liCollaborate with other key functions on initiatives including Engineering, HR, Quality, Operations, etc. to deliver on goals and plans /li liUnderstand, demonstrate and is a role model of the company’s operating principles /li liGuide site-based safety teams and effectively lead safety committees to engage site personnel /li liApply ergonomic principles and recommend improvements with engineering or administrative controls /li liExamine tasks and determine the best method of accomplishing work to prevent injury /li /ul h3bSkills that will make you successful /b /h3 ul liStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities /li liWorking knowledge of machinery repair techniques, welding, electrical construction, pipefitting, carpentry, and facility maintenance practices /li liAbility to safely use hand tools,
power tools, testing equipment, and fabrication equipment /li liAbility to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation /li liStrong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality /li liAbility to work independently with minimal supervision /li liExcellent teamwork and communication skills /liliPositive, flexible approach to assigned tasks and changing priorities /li liSound judgment and strong decision-making skills /li /ul h3bExperiences that will support your success /b /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental sciences or related field, or a combination of education and experience related to the position /li liDemonstrated 1+ year of experience working in a safety and environmentally conscious manufacturing environment preferred /li liExperience in successfully coordinating EHS sustainability activities in a manufacturing setting preferred /li liFirst Aid, CPR, AED skills or other professional EHS certifications a plus /li liThorough knowledge of basic industrial hygiene and occupational health hazards and regulations /li liUnderstanding of fire codes, standards, and regulations /li liAwareness of applicable environmental policies, standards, guidelines, regulations, and local requirements (spill containment, facility waste stream disposal requirements, etc.) /li liStrong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook /li liKnowledge of laws and regulations regarding OSHA, NFPA, DOT and EPA /li /ul h3bWhat We Offer /b /h3 pAt Ferrara, we're proud to support our employees with comprehensive benefits that enhance health, financial wellness, and include paid time off (PTO).
