About Us
Power and Compute Company (PCC) is a mission-driven startup operating at the intersection of Energy and AI-enabling infrastructure. Our thesis is predicated on the necessity to responsibly scale energy-efficient, sovereign, and distributed small-size AI factories in meshed clusters. We harvest energy that would otherwise be curtailed, and we enable scalable, socially responsible AI growth—without the social acceptability challenges of hyperscale datacenters.
We bring to market a concept that is modular and economical, delivering the most advanced computing
Position Type
Part of the Engineering team, reporting to the Head of Hardware Engineering
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the PCC team and take full ownership of the electrical systems across our product family. You will drive electrical architecture, technology selection, and detailed design for the Pod, Module, and Shell products. As owner across the product family you will also seek opportunities for cross-product optimization and standardization.
This is a deeply technical role where you will own designs end-to-end, from first concept through prototype build, testing, validation, and production readiness. You will work across LV and MV power systems, collaborate closely with the mechanical and thermal engineering teams, and be a key technical voice in shaping how our infrastructure is powered.
What You Will Deliver
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role. You will be instrumental in taking PCC’s products to market and the electrical architecture you define will be visible in every product we ship.
In your first year: You will own and deliver the electrical system design of PCC’s Pod from architecture to production-ready product.
In parallel you will develop electrical architecture concepts and designs for PCC’s larger systems, the Module and Shell, establishing the electrical foundation across the full product family.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the electrical system design of PCC’s Pod, Module, and Shell products end-to-end: technology selection, system architecture, detailed design, and testing and validation
- Develop single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, cable schedules, protection coordination studies, and panel layouts
- Size and specify LV and MV power distribution systems, protection devices, switchgear, and cabling for industrial and outdoor environments
- Design interfaces with battery energy storage systems and site-level power infrastructure, including metering and phase balancing
- Define and drive electrical testing and commissioning procedures from first prototype through production release
- Collaborate with mechanical and thermal engineers to ensure electrical systems are integrated within enclosure constraints with proper routing, clearances, and serviceability
- Work with suppliers and contract partners to specify, procure, and technically qualify electrical components and subsystems
- Maintain electrical design documentation, drawing, and revision control in line with engineering standards
- Contribute to design reviews and support cross-functional problem solving across hardware, thermal, and electrical domains
- Research, scout,
and co-develop new technological solutions and approaches (i.e. full DC architecture) with academic and industry partners
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field
- 5+ years of hands-on electrical system design experience, with systems delivered to prototype, commissioning, or production
- Strong experience in LV and MV power distribution system design (up to 35 kV)
- Proficiency in electrical design tools such as EPLAN Electric P8, AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent
- Experience with protection coordination, load flow analysis, and fault-level calculations
- Solid knowledge of relevant electrical standards (IEC 60364, IEC 61439, EN 50600, or equivalent)
- Experience designing power systems for industrial, energy, or infrastructure applications
- Ability to work at both system architecture level and detailed design level with equal comfort
- Strong understanding of electrical safety requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
- English Speaking
Nice to Have
- Experience with battery energy storage systems, renewable energy integration, or off-grid power systems
- Background in edge computing, modular data centers, or outdoor-deployed industrial equipment
- Familiarity with power quality analysis, harmonic mitigation, or grid interconnection requirements
- Experience with control and monitoring system integration (PLC, SCADA; BMS, DCIM)
- Knowledge of EMC and EMI requirements for mixed-signal power and IT environments
- Prior experience at a hardware startup or scale-up, where engineering scope and pace require broad ownership
