Schedules may vary and are subject to change.Core Hours: 7am-5pm must be available for occassional weekendsWant to make an impact?The Environmental, Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the health and safety of the plant workforce and environment by monitoring and evaluating health and safety conditions; assuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures and governmental standards; and maintenance of the EHS Programs for the site. The primary objective is to ensure a safe and incident-free work environment including methodologies, initiatives and strategies that promote safe operations, safety awareness, training and continuous improvement to eliminate or control unsafe behaviors, environments and hazards.Ways you will make a differenceProvide EHS leadership and oversight for both the Forest Park and Maywood Drive (Bellwood) manufacturing facilities, ensuring compliance, employee engagement,



and continuous improvement in safety performance.Present EHS programs to train employees in site safety practices by promoting and leading a site culture where safety is ingrained as a core value with all employeesDrive the key effective, sustainable implementation of corporate and site EHS initiatives, strategies, programs and procedures, responsibilities via hands on leadership, coaching and teamworkFacilitate, train and coach employees from onboarding to OSHA required annual training and other safety related topics to ensure compliance with government mandated trainingCollaborate with employees to identify and implement solutions to safety issues identified in inspections and investigations to eliminate incidents and prevent recurrenceReview incident and injury reporting and analyze data to identify trendsEnsure compliance with regulations and company policies by routinely interacting with employees on the plant floorAnalyze EHS programs, conditions and behaviors and recommend changes to continuously improve site EHS performanceLead and ensure thorough investigation of all incidents, in coordination with site leadershipFoster/develop a culture where everyone is actively engaged in performing their work in a safe manner and co-workers hold each other accountable to prevent at-risk behaviorsOversee regulatory compliance audits/inspections and associated record keeping in partnership with human resources and oversees workers’ compensation claims by working with the insurance company, injured employees and clinics from the opening of the claim and until the claim closesProvide EHS functional and technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the functionCollaborate with other key functions on initiatives including Engineering, HR, Quality, Operations, etc. to deliver on goals and plansUnderstand, demonstrate and is a role model of the company’s operating principlesGuide site-based safety teams and effectively lead safety committees to engage site personnelApply ergonomic principles and recommend improvements with engineering or administrative controlsExamine tasks and determine the best method of accomplishing work to prevent injurySkills that will make you successfulStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesWorking knowledge of machinery repair techniques, welding,



electrical construction, pipefitting, carpentry, and facility maintenance practicesAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and fabrication equipmentAbility to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentationStrong attention to detail with a focus on safety and qualityAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent teamwork and communication skillsPositive, flexible approach to assigned tasks and changing prioritiesSound judgment and strong decision-making skillsExperiences that will support your successBachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental sciences or related field, or a combination of education and experience related to the positionDemonstrated 1+ year of experience working in a safety and environmentally conscious manufacturing environment preferredExperience in successfully coordinating EHS sustainability activities in a manufacturing setting preferredFirst Aid, CPR, AED skills or other professional EHS certifications a plusThorough knowledge of basic industrial hygiene and occupational health hazards and regulationsUnderstanding of fire codes, standards, and regulationsAwareness of applicable environmental policies, standards, guidelines, regulations, and local requirements (spill containment, facility waste stream & disposal requirements, etc.)Strong computer skills in Microsoft OutlookKnowledge of laws and regulations regarding OSHA, NFPA, DOT and EPAWhat We OfferAt Ferrara, we're proud to support our employees with comprehensive benefits that enhance health, financial wellness, and include paid time off (PTO).
