/p pThe role focuses on the geotechnical analysis and design of complex infrastructure projects, including soil and rock behaviour assessment, foundation design, numerical modelling, and coordination with multidisciplinary and BIM teams.

/p h3bKey Accountabilities /b /h3 ul liLead the development of geotechnical engineering designs from concept and feasibility studies through detailed design and construction support for complex infrastructure projects.
/li liPerform and review geotechnical analyses and calculations for shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, excavations, embankments, slopes, tunnels and soil-structure interaction problems.
/li liDevelop, calibrate and interpret advanced numerical models using finite element and finite difference methods for static, dynamic and staged-construction analyses.
/li liPrepare and review Geotechnical Design Reports, design criteria, calculation notes, technical specifications, drawings and other engineering deliverables.
/li liDefine geotechnical ground models and design parameters based on site investigation data, laboratory testing results and engineering judgement.
/li liPlan and supervise geotechnical investigation campaigns, including boreholes, in-situ testing and laboratory testing programmes, and interpret the resulting data.
/li liAssess geotechnical risks associated with natural hazards, groundwater conditions, excavation works and foundation systems, proposing appropriate mitigation measures.
/li liReview and technically control geotechnical designs and calculations prepared by internal teams, subcontractors or third parties.
/li liCoordinate geotechnical activities with structural, civil, hydraulic, tunnelling and construction disciplines to ensure fully integrated design solutions.




/li liInterface with BIM Coordinators and BIM Specialists to ensure consistency between geotechnical models, design calculations and BIM deliverables.
/li liProvide technical support during tendering, construction and commissioning phases, including review of contractor submissions, responses to technical queries and site inspections.
/li liSupport project planning activities, including estimation of engineering effort, schedule development and monitoring of project deliverables.
/li liMentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical development of the geotechnical team.
/li liPrepare and present technical progress reports and participate in meetings with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
/li liEnsure that all assigned activities are performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, health and safety requirements and the RINA Quality Management System.

/p pbTechnical Skills: /b /p ul liStrong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices, with proven experience in the design of shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, excavations, embankments, slopes, underground structures and soil–structure interaction problems.
/li liProven experience in advanced numerical modelling using finite element and finite difference methods for static, dynamic and staged-construction analyses.
/li liAbility to interpret and assess geotechnical investigation data, laboratory testing results and geological information, and to define geotechnical design parameters and ground models.
/li liExperience in planning and supervising geotechnical site investigations, including boreholes, in-situ testing and laboratory testing programmes.
/li liSound understanding of geotechnical risks associated with foundations, excavations, groundwater conditions, geohazards and earthworks,



including identification and implementation of mitigation measures.
/li liExperience in multidisciplinary coordination and integration of geotechnical designs within BIM-based infrastructure projects.
/li liProficiency in industry-standard geotechnical software, including Plaxis 2D/3D, Rocscience Suite, L-Pile, Group and/or similar.
/li liWorking knowledge of BIM and digital engineering workflows; familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit is considered an advantage.
/li /ul pExcellent knowledge of Italian (C1/C2 level), both written and spoken.
