As a Battery System Engineer, you will contribute to developing cutting-edge structural batteries for aerospace and defense applications. You will play a crucial role in the electrical design, building, and testing of complete structural battery modules, unlocking the full potential of Volta's load-bearing cells.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating closely with the cell development team and the mechanical team to tackle complex challenges and integrate these worlds into high-performance energy storage systems for demanding applications.

You will be an advocate for Volta Structural Energy’s unique structural battery technology, driving innovation and advancing our expertise.
- Design structural battery modules across four key levels:
- battery module topology, overall functional design,



and appearance;
- Module compatibilization with target applications;
- cell wiring and integration, targeting reliability and efficiency,
- Battery Management System (BMS) design, integration and communication protocol development.
- Collaborate with the CTO, product development team, and cell engineers to create cohesive designs that meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements.
- Define testing protocols for module performance, safety, and durability.
- Perform simulations and experiments to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO).
- Analyze and resolve issues identified during testing and production.
- Participate in the scale-up process from prototype to full-scale production.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to product development, procedures and testing.
