Euronews is looking for an experienced journalist to lead our Italian bureau in Rome. With parliamentary elections coming up and a busy political agenda ahead, we're stepping up our coverage of Italian and European politics, and we want someone who can make it happen.
This is a dual role:
• As Editor of the Day, you lead the newsroom throughout your shift: choosing the stories to cover, assigning and approving articles before publication, preparing bulletin rundowns, supervising live broadcasts and breaking news, and managing the front page, live blogs and push notifications. The role works on shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• As Bureau Chief, you manage the Rome bureau: staff planning and rotas, recruitment, training and performance reviews, budget for reporting trips and freelancers, and coordination with the central newsroom. You represent Euronews with officials, institutions and other media,
secure and conduct high-level interviews, and lead the bureau's election coverage.
What we're looking for:
• 8+ years in news media (TV and online), with strong experience covering Italian politics
• A solid network of political, institutional and economic contacts
• Proven experience conducting high-level interviews, on camera and live
• Excellent command of Italian and fluent English (C1); French or another Euronews language is a plus
