Field Service Engineer position supporting installation, maintenance, and repair of IC-LC-MS analytical instruments for Thermo Fisher Scientific. Based in southern Italy with travel throughout the country, the role involves troubleshooting complex equipment, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting service contracts across research, industrial, and healthcare sectors.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, repair, and validate IC-LC-MS instruments including HPLC, Vanquish, and Orbitrap systems on-site
Diagnose and resolve technical issues through troubleshooting electronics and mechanical components
Schedule and prioritize repair, maintenance, and qualification activities while managing spare parts inventory
Promote and sell extended service contracts, preventative maintenance plans, and product upgrades to customers
Document service activities, prepare reports,



and train customers on equipment operation
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Electronics, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
Minimum 2-3 years field service or relevant industry experience with analytical instruments
Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills to component level
Experience with Ion/Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, or related spectroscopy techniques preferred
Native Italian speaker with English proficiency; valid driver's license required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, service management software, and technical documentation interpretation
Physical capability to lift 23 kg; willingness to travel up to 90% and internationally for training
