Overview

The Secondary Teacher, History (6-8) will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective history instruction to students in grades 6-12 through our virtual learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of historical concepts, excellent communication and technology skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and supportive online learning environment. Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, assessment, individualized support, and collaboration to ensure student success.
- Deliver engaging and interactive live virtual lessons aligned with the
- Tennessee State Standards for Social Studies (History focus) for grades 6-8.
- Utilize a variety of online teaching methodologies, resources, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Develop and deliver asynchronous learning activities, including interactive assignments, projects, research tasks, and discussions.
- Provide clear and timely feedback on student work to promote understanding and historical thinking skills.




- Facilitate small group instruction and provide individualized support to students as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Implement the Stellar Virtual history curriculum effectively and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and historical understanding.
- Analyze student data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the history curriculum.
- Support on-site testing events periodically throughout the year (required).
- Participate in virtual professional development and collaborate with colleagues on online teaching best practices.
