pbTravel: /b 25–40% domestic travel, including overnight stays /p h3Position Summary /h3 pWe are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, integration, and commissioning of control systems for technically complex research and development, production, and industrial projects. /p pBased in Verona, Wisconsin, this role works alongside a team of controls engineers to deliver projects from initial design through start-up and validation. The ideal candidate brings strong PLC programming skills, hands‑on field experience, and a collaborative approach to solving technical challenges. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop and review control system architecture, flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams (PIDs), control sequences, and design specifications. /li liConduct risk and hazard analyses to support safe system design and operation. /li liCreate responsibility matrices, instrument indexes, bills of material (BOMs), and other project documentation. /li liDevelop and review wiring schematics and control panel layouts. /li liProgram and integrate Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, and Wago platforms. /li liDesign and perform system functionality tests at the manufacturing facility and customer locations. /li liPrepare wire pull schedules and contractor scope-of-work documents for bidding and construction. /li liPerform onsite equipment start-up, commissioning, and validation. /li liComplete input/output (I/O) checkout, troubleshoot systems, calibrate instrumentation, and tune PID loops.
/li liValidate programming to ensure systems operate according to defined control sequences. /li liCollaborate with project teams, customers, and contractors to address technical requirements and changes in project scope, schedules, or design. /li /ul h3Required Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. /li liExperience preparing drawings using AutoCAD Electrical. /li liAt least five years of experience designing, building, and programming PLC systems, including field experience from design through start-up. /li liAt least five years of ladder logic programming experience. /li liExperience with engine test cell instrumentation and controls, including design, integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning. /li liAbility to interpret and create PIDs. /li liStrong client service skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects and adapt to changing deadlines, scope, and design requirements. /li liStrong technical writing and verbal communication skills. /li liStrong problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners. /li liInitiative to develop technical skills and contribute to team success. /li liWillingness to travel domestically approximately 25–40%, including overnight stays, for design meetings, equipment installation supervision, and commissioning. /li /ul h3Benefits Work Environment /h3 ul li401(k) with employer match. /li liPaid time off. /li liSummer hours. /li liA positive, collaborative company culture. /li /ul #J-18808-Ljbffr
