pThe Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studiess at the European University Institute (EUI) invites outstanding candidates to apply for the position of Chair of Global Economy. The successful candidate will be expected to lead, shape, and implement an inspiring academic research agenda within the Global Governance Programme (GGP) to promote understanding of national and multilateral responses to the broad changes underway in the global economy. /ppIn line with the RSCAS Strategic Plan ), the candidate’s research agenda should address major debates on the governance of cross-border economic flows and on the changing architecture of the global economy, with particular attention to Europe’s role. Relevant themes include global production networks, trade, capital mobility, labour mobility, industrial policy, and the interaction between domestic, regional, and multilateral policy regimes. /ph3The EUI at a glance: /h3pWe are an international organisation set up in 1972; a research university focusing exclusively on post-graduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral studies, and advanced research, located in the hills overlooking the city of Florence, Italy. The Institute also hosts the Historical Archives of the European Union. /ph3More on our Institution: /h3pAs Global Economy Chair holder, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the achievement of the goals set out in the EUI Strategy for by collaborating with the relevant departments and to contributing to their research and training activities (e.g., by contributing to seminars or providing secondary supervision for a limited number of doctoral researchers).



They will also be responsible, with the support of the Global Governance Programme, for the growth and development of research on the ‘Global Economy’, including through the mobilisation of external funding and the mentoring of early-stage researchers. /ppThe successful candidate will be expected to provide major input in research, supervision and administration, including: /ph3Research: /h3ulliTo develop and lead research in the fields mentioned in the profile, specifically challenges to Global Governance; /liliTo promote the integration of their research with other research interests within the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies; as well as interdisciplinary research with the other Departments and Centres of the EUI; /liliTo maintain a high national and international profile of publications in books and in internationally recognised journals, with an interest in contributing to the intellectual and public life of the EUI; /liliTo acquire research funding on an individual basis and in collaboration with others. /li /ulh3Supervision and mentoring:
