Job Description Summary
AvioAero is strengthening its commitment to excellence in the aeronautical engine business by continuing to expand its expertise across design, manufacturing, testing, and new technologies.
We are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design of complex mechanical systems for engine, module, and component testing across both Civil and Military programs.
In this role, you will join the Military Product Line Engineering team, taking end-to-end responsibility for assigned test rig mechanical design activities.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers across Engineering, Testing, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Program Management, ensuring alignment with design intent and certification requirements where applicable.
This position offers strong visibility and the opportunity to build a broad network across AvioAero and GE Aerospace.
Essential Responsibilities
Capture system requirements and translate them into test rig design definition
Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of Mechanical Test Enabling Hardware that meets business standards, practices and procedures as well as the product/program requirements, in line with decisions concurred at Systems level
Create and develop new mechanical design concepts with the use of CAD tools
Follow recommended approach to meet the technical and program requirements
Develop in-depth knowledge of technical discipline.
Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy
Contribute to formulating and executing plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Proactively support and coordinate activities with manufacturing departments and Suppliers in order to guarantee on time and on quality hardware procurement
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
Previous proven experience in design of complex mechanical systems
Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations
Good knowledge of Advanced CAD Systems (preferable NX & Teamcenter)
Good knowledge of complex 2D and 3D shapes modelling CAD techniques
Basic knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)
Basic knowledge of Stress Analysis, Structure Dynamics simulation techniques and Rotor-Dynamics Fundamentals
Strong technical attitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize the working tasks
Fluency in English and Italian language, both written and oral
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of aeronautical aero-engines components or modules, technical requirements, design solutions, technologies
Experience on structure stress analysis
Capable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience
Curiosity and passion for mechanical design

Contract Level: CCNL metalmeccanico – level B2
Salary range for this role: ****** euro - ******,50 euro + Performance-related bonus + PDR up to **** euro
Compensation will be defined within the published salary range, reflecting the candidate's experience, developed skills, and overall alignment with the role's responsibilities.
