h3POSITION PURPOSE: /h3 pProvides information, support and home visitation services to parents to promote optimal developmental growth of their preschool age children.
/p h3ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: /h3 ulliProvide parent education through regular personal visits implementing the Born To Learn Curriculum Prenatal to 5 years.
/liliAssess family needs and provide developmentally appropriate information, guidance, and support to parents.
/liliPrepare lesson plans and assist with child developmental screenings.
/liliReview and analyze data for program evaluation.
Responsible for completing and maintaining all documentation, screening summaries and essential records as required by the program in a timely and comprehensive manner.
/liliRepresent the District's Parents As Teachers program at various community events supporting families and children.
/liliCoordinate services with other community programs offering services to parents and their young children.
/liliSuccessfully complete the Born To Learn Institute offered by the SC Department of Education and acquire certification as a parent educator.
/liliMaintain certification as a parent educator, by annually completing the required professional development hours.
/li /ul h3ADDITIONAL DUTIES: /h3 pPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Coordinator of Early Childhood,Chief InstructionalServices Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.
/p h3QUALIFICATIONS: /h3 ulliCollege degree in early childhood education or a related field of study preferred.
/liliDemonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge about what promotes optimal parent-child interaction and infant/toddler development.
/liliBecome qualified to administer developmental screenings.
/li /ul h3EXPERIENCE:



/h3 ulliMinimum of three years supervised experience working with young children and their parents.
/liliTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
